stop producing spot light magazine

Status: Acknowledged

I do not want to receive this spot light magazine again. I think that it is a waste of money and doesn't have much worth reading about.

I agree. When an issue arrives I spend about 30 seconds turning the pages, never find anything I have any interest in, and into the trash can it goes. And one issue smelled like it was infected with something, that one went immediately into the trash. What a waste of trees..... :smileymad:

Spend the money on something useful. Like more HD channels.

Or at least let people opt out. I can see where they may be people that do read it..

And they may enjoy seeing what is coming up.

Why don't you just unsubscribe from it instead of taking away something from those that may like it.

I can't see why anybody would want to read that trash, but ok, fair enough, please tell me how to unsubscribe, I do not have a copy of the magazine to try to find the info in, and I am certainly not going to try to find anything on My Verizon. Plus I never subscribed in the first place, I wonder why should I have to unsubscribe?

I agree perhaps it should be opt in by default. I thought it was at one time. Many people don't know, or are clueless on how to set subscriptions in their profile, so they will just get it, if things have changed from opt in. The cost of production is what is being discussed. Most everything in that magazine can easily be found online, or in your face when you press the menu button, or just look through the new on screen channel lineup . My issue I believe was to get the magazine you had to agree to get tons of other stuff.  :smileyfrustrated:

OK, just out of curiosity I went to my Account Profile in My Verizon and looked around. The only subscription option that I can find is for the Spotlight Entertainment Newsletter to be sent to my email address. No option that I can find for a paper edition. But I have removed the check from the email version, which I don't get anyway, maybe that will stop the paper?????

Yes I agree. Everything on the MyVerizon site is a moving target. Half 2.0 half 3.0 and half somewhere in the middle. It must have changed since I looked last. I think it is a mess and needs someone in management to take hold of it. One format or the other, or merge the two. Half the time I get the login dialog pop up and then still see the red login dialog box on the right side. The whole thing is a fiasco. Not to mention the number of customers that have complained about the online order and change functions not working. Me included. Ok the billing cycle has ended. I still can not make any account changes. DVR ordering etc! Then sales will not honor the online pricing for new customers, and they can't order online.

Sorry for going off topic. But here is the sign up page. I see no sign out page. http://promo.verizon.com/entertainmentnwslttr/?CMP=DMC-CVD_ZZ_ZZ_E_DM_N_X003

Is this a free publication?

Perhaps this is why. Directly from the sign up page. www.verizon.com/spotlight.

"*Spotlight Magazine delivery is available only to FiOS TV subscribers in TX, MA, PA, DE, NJ, NY, MD, VA, CA, FL, RI, DC. You must have entered a valid account number to receive the magazine. Customers on Verizon's Do Not Solicit list will not be eligible to receive the magazine. If you are unsure whether you are on the list, please call 1-800-VERIZON to find out."

I sort of agree, the magazine is nothing more than a multipage advertisment. There is never anything of substance in the entire publication and I would not miss it if I never got it again.
