Desperate for Help WIth FTP Problem

[ Edited ]

Our company is using Motion Slates running windows 7, with gobi2000 and using Verizon as a broadband provider.

Until a few weeks ago, we were able to execute pure FTP commands without any problems (from command line, or using batch and script.)  The destination is the same.

Now, the FTP times out with an error typical with firewall interference:

"could not open data connection to port xxxx connection timed out." (FTP command do execute to the point of data transfer.)

This does not appear to be a firewall issue:  turning off Windows firewall, the results are the same.  Further, if we connect the same machine to the internet with other connections various private or public wifi services, we have no problems!

The issue only exists with the Verizon connection.  This is an enormous problem, and we are desperate for help!!!

#1 In the gobi2000 go to Settings -> Info.

#2 The IP Address in there should be the same IP Address that you see at http://portforward.com/ where it says Your external IP is

#3 If not, please report back that fact.

If you are the original poster (OP) and your issue is solved, please remember to click the "Solution?" button so that others can more easily find it. If anyone has been helpful to you, please show your appreciation by clicking the "Kudos" button.
