Members,
As part of our
effort to add value to our most valued community members, the Verizon Community
team is please to announce the introduction of Community Member Signatures. A Signature is a block of text that is
appended to the end of a member’s message posts. Generally speaking, a
signature is used to automatically append your name and some descriptive commentary,
such as, your device(s), profession, or quote that personalizes you as a
community member to a post. Once
community members have reached a certain Community Rank, they may use the My
Profile link to setup their Signature.
The Signature tool
allows up to 250 characters and no more than 3 horizontal lines of text. In addition, community members can use a
limited set of HTML tags within their signatures to give them a distinctive
look (HTML is not required). The
following HTML tags can be used within signatures:

All Signatures,
whether automatically appended to a message from your Member Profile or typed
directly into the message post – must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Material contained within signature files must not
violate the Verizon
Community Forums Terms of Service.
- Signatures may not contain images or any external
links. In addition, signatures may not
contain any active code, scripts, CSS, JS, mouseovers, midi files, tracking
mechanisms, cookies, or any type of code other than plain HTML used in standard
ways. Code written to bypass board filters in any way will be a violation of
the Terms of Service.
- No Advertising – Under no
circumstances may community members use their Signature to advertise, market,
or publicize any product, service, political cause, product review, movement,
or external website. This includes
linking to any Verizon branded services. Posting for the sole purpose of allowing one's signature to display within
the community forums will not be tolerated. Examples of this include empty posts,
repetitive posts, "bumping" without adding useful content, or other
types of posts that do not contribute individually to healthy interaction. In addition, blatant language or techniques,
including frequent change of signatures, is prohibited and will be interpreted
as Advertising.
Community Administrators reserves the right to modify or delete any
signatures deemed to violate any of the terms and conditions set forth on these
forums and is the final authority on this matter.
We hope the addition of this frequently requested feature helps
all of our community members receive a more useful experience. As always, we welcome your feedback and ask
