We’ve been talking about social media for some time now. This includes offering tips from experts in our free webinar series, guest blog posts from social media guru like Guy Kawasaki and directly linking to key articles on this very topic. Social media is another medium to reach key audiences… social media is inexpensive; it’s fun and in “real-time” but it can be time consuming.
At Verizon we’re very open to trying new marketing tactics as we know change is inevitable. To stay relevant, to be competitive and to connect with our existing and potential customers we need to keep up to date.
So we started by dipping our toes in social media by launching this blog – coming up on one year next month – and today we’ve launched the Verizon Small Business Facebook page (please fan us) and the VZSmallBiz Twitter account (please follow us).
Very similar to the tone of these blog posts, our main focus is to provide relevant and helpful information to small businesses or to ask questions to get you to share your thoughts and engage with us. Trust me, our content will be relevant to you and your business as our goal is to help your business grow and prosper. Sure we have goods to sell and we’ll tell you about some great deals too, but our focus is to engage with all small businesses – not just Verizon’s small business customers.
We’re still tightening up our social media plan so if you have any suggestions, please post your comments here or post them on our Facebook page or let us know in Twittersphere.
If you’re not engaging with your customers online tell me why. And if you are already engaging with your customers online, share some of your success stories – I’m sure my team and I can use that insight.
