75 Live FiOS TV Channels Now Available on Xbox 360

by jarryd_gonzales on ‎12-18-2012 12:56 PM - last edited on ‎12-19-2012 03:38 PM by Employee

Just in time for the holidays (and for CES 2013 attendees to demo at the Verizon booth)! Our FiOS TV App on Xbox 360 just got better.

The boundaries between TV and gaming continue to fade as Xbox adds another 49 live FiOS TV channels to the lineup for a total of 75. The new lineup includes a variety of popular channels including: AMC HD, NFL Network, Disney HD, History Channel HD, EPIX HD, PBS Kids Sprout and more.

Verizon continues to expand the borderless lifestyle for consumers with the announcement to enhance its partnership with Microsoft of adding more live, FiOS TV channels available over the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Consumers want to watch programming on devices other than their TV. Trends show that consumers are using gaming consoles, tablets and other non-PC connected devices to watch live TV:

And according to Verizon’s Borderless Lifestyle survey, 24 percent of today’s borderless consumers watch live TV on gaming consoles.

"Adding more live Verizon FiOS Channels to Xbox gives consumers more options for living their borderless lifestyles, said Maitreyi Krishnaswamy, director of FiOS TV for Verizon. “Verizon will continue to deliver the programming consumers want, where, where and how they want it.”

Verizon and Microsoft customers who are Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers and who subscribe to both FiOS TV and Internet service will be able to view select live channels through their Xbox 360 consoles.  No extra hardware is required.  And for the first time, these customers will be able to integrate their TV experience with voice and gesture commands through Kinect for Xbox 360.
