OK, all you crazy “Prometheus” fans, we have more fun in store for you.
Beginning Thursday [May 24], we are going to give you another sneak peek at another exclusive clip from the movie. As usual, we’ll post it on our facebook page. While you’re there, you’ll find the other three “Prometheus” movie clips that we’ve been rolling out. And check out the collection of 30-second TV commercials for the movie.
BTW, if you missed last Wednesday’s Twitter chat with Damon Lindelof, you missed a rare treat, or in this case, a Tweet. Lindelof is one of the writers of the highly anticipated upcoming Ridley Scott movie “Prometheus,” which opens worldwide on June 8. But don’t freak out if you feel June 8 is too far away because we have some highlights from our exclusive Tweet up.
Lindelof was the guest of Verizon and the movie’s producer, 20th Century Fox, and man, did he have fun chatting with fans for about 35 minutes. For example here are a few highlights from Lindelof himself.
Fan: Who decided on the title for the film?
Lindelof: I pitched Ridley "Prometheus" early on and he said, "It's pretentious and no one can pronounce it!" That's when I knew we had a winner.
Fan: How do you get Ridley Scott to read a script if you're NOT called Damon Lindelof?
Lindelof: Ridley doesn't read scripts. You have to perform it live for him. Break a leg! (literally. he likes authenticity)
Fan: What was the first sci-fi film you ever remember watching?
Lindelof: Star Wars in '77. Although some would say that it's technically "fantasy," it had spaceships and ROBOTS for God's sake!
Fan: What is your favorite line from the movie?
Lindelof: I refuse to give it away. But it's something Janek (Idris Elba) says to Vickers (Charlize Theron).
Fan: Was it intimidating being asked to write Ridley's first sci-fi movie since Blade Runner?
Lindelof: "Intimidating" is not the word. I am still terrified that I will be discovered for the fraud that I am. Seriously, I lose sleep over this.
Fan: Is Prometheus more of an action film like Aliens or does it have more of the horror aspect in it?
Lindelof: Hopefully, it's part action, part horror, part thriller, part mystery and there's like, some kissing and stuff, too.
We wanted to give fans a rare behind-the-scenes peak into one of the most interesting writers in Hollywoodsince Verizon and Fox are partnering to promote “Prometheus.” And as many of you know already, we’re also running a “Prometheus” sweepstakes and offering the winners trip toLondon to visit the studio where much of the movie was filmed.
And it doesn’t stop there as we have more fun planned as we lead up to the movie premiere. Watch this space or, better yet, visit our facebook page for breaking news, so stay tuned.
