Are You Ready for Some Football? Well, Get Ready for This…

This weekend is the start of the NFL season.  Football junkies have been waiting since last February.  But if you are a real fan, there are options this year that will make leaving the couch on Sundays almost impossible.  Combine FiOS TV with the NFL Red Zone and our new RedZone Widget, and you have a combination that cable just can’t match.

We announced last week that we’ll begin broadcasting the NFL RedZone premium channel this Sunday.  With the NFL RedZone channel, you see plays inside the 20 yard lines from games across the country.NFL RedZone

FiOS customers can subscribe to the NFL RedZone channel simply by tuning to the NFL RedZone channel (in either HD on channel 835 or SD on channel 335) and clicking the remote.  Confirm the choice and you are watching the RedZone channel.

Try doing that with cable.  It won’t work.

But that’s not all.

Starting this weekend, FiOS TV subscribers will see Verizon’s new RedZone Widget – one stop for easy access to NFL stats, scores and news.  Great stuff.  But if you subscribe to the NFL RedZone channel, the Widget lets you set onscreen alerts for whenever a team is moving into the 20-yard line.  Punch the remote and switch from the home town team to a game anywhere where the action is.

How fun is that?  A lot more fun than watching old fashioned cable.
