EPIX Turns Thanksgiving Into an Action-Packed Weekend

by Employee ‎11-23-2009 09:29 AM - edited ‎11-23-2009 09:31 AM

turkey.JPGIf you're a fan, then, as we said last week, nothing goes better than football with FiOS during the Thanksgiving holiday.  But, if football isn't your thing, Verizon is adding to your Thanksgiving feast with an action-packed special offer from EPIX called the "Feast of Fury."

Starting Thanksgiving Day at 11:30 a.m. ET, EPIX subscribers can enjoy a non-stop action-adventure movie marathon, beginning with "The Indy 500: 500 Minutes of Indiana Jones."  Watch Harrison Ford bring Indy to life in all four Indiana Jones movies, including, "Raiders of the Lost Ark."

Busy cooking Thanksgiving Day?  Well, we've got more.  EPIX's "Feast of Fury" continues throughout the weekend with films like "Iron Man, "The Hunt for Red October," "Flash Gordon" and more.  A total of 21 movie classics over four days.

Want to watch the movies as they debut?  Tune to channel 395 for SD or 895 for HD. But don't worry about letting the turkey burn while trying to find out if Doctor Jones can save all the Sankara stones.  You can also catch each film on FiOS TV VOD or online  (complete with bonus materials).

It's easy to add EPIX if you're not a subscriber.  Just tune to either channel 395 or 895 and order with your remote control.  For just $9.99/month, you'll get hundreds of films from EPIX on TV, VOD and online anytime.  But for a fan of action flics, it doesn't get much better than 21 hit  movies in four days from EPIX this Thanksgiving weekend.  Are you up for the challenge?

I know I'm in the minority here, but Temple of Doom is my favorite Indiana Jones. It's the Indy movie I grew up watching as a kid, so that may have something to do with it. Sure, it's cheesy and mostly plotless and it has all those gross out gags, but it's also larger than life and almost cartoonish in a way that makes it grander in scope and more fantastic. It's also one of John Williams' best scores of all time, let alone of the Indy movies.

So gotta give you kudos for the Doom reference. There's nothing I'd love more than to curl up to the flick after a turkey coma. Fortune and glory, kid, fortune and glory!
