It’s that time again! Time for me to tell you all about the free programming available to you as a FiOS TV customer.
The first one is a bit different than our usual free previews. Starting today, we have a special premiere available on demand. Season six of the popular HISTORY Channel show "Ice Road Truckers” begins on June 3rd (9 pm ET), but we have the premiere episode right now on FiOS TV Video on Demand – 10 days before it airs! For anyone not familiar with the show, “Ice Road Truckers” follows a group of drivers who operate trucks on routes to remote oil fields crossing frozen lakes and rivers in Canada and Alaska’s arctic conditions.
You can find “Ice Road Truckers” in the HISTORY Channel on demand folder, which is under “Free” and “Info & Education.” Along with the season six premiere episode, you’ll also find catch-up episodes from season five and some bonus material – in HD and SD.
If you can’t get enough “Ice Road Truckers,” check out our Verizon FiOS Facebook page tomorrow where we’ll have an interactive app dedicated to the show. You can get an official “Ice Road Truckers” license plate, meet the drivers, listen to some of their favorite songs and ask them virtual questions.
If you’re a Tennis fan, we have something for you too. Starting this Sunday, the Tennis Channel will be available to all FiOS TV customers. Just in time for the start of the French Open, catch all of the action right from your living room. Will Rafael Nadal win it all for the second consecutive year?
The Tennis Channel, normally included with the FiOS TV Ultimate HD package or our Sports Package, will be available free of charge for all FiOS TV customers through the entire French Open (Sun., May 27 – Sun., June 10). Found on FiOS TV channels 303 in SD and 592 in HD, watch more than 240 hours of live tournament action and “French Open Tonight’s” coverage featuring match play, nightly recaps and back stories.
As the Tennis Channel free preview ends, another one begins. Starting Friday, June 8, HBO and Cinemax will be available to all FiOS TV customers. From Friday through Mon., June 11, catch up on all of your favorite shows and movies.
HBO will feature the latest episodes of the new Julia Louis-Dreyfus show “Veep,” movies like “Larry Crowne” and “Horrible Bosses” and the Ricky Gervais stand-up special “Out of England 2.” Plus, catch the season five premiere of fan favorite “True Blood.” Cinemax will offer a variety of movies, including comedies like “Due Date” and “Bridesmaids” along with 80s favorite “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” You’ll find HBO and Cinemax on FiOS TV channels 400-431 and 899-931, as well as on demand.
As usual, if you like what you see during the free previews, you can sign up for the channel with your remote control, as soon as the free previews are over. Or, just give us a call. Happy watching!
