We love talking Social TV on the blog, so when we have a new FiOS TV app or enhancements to existing ones, we want to tell our At Home followers about it first. Today, we have some news about updates to the Twitter Widget on FiOS TV.
When we launched the Twitter Widget last year, we asked our At Home readers and Twitter followers for feedback since we’re always look for ways to make the customer experience even better. Your biggest advice was to make the Twitter Widget more like Twitter itself, and that’s exactly what we’ve done.
Available this week, the new features let customers RT (ReTweet) other posts to their followers, send a DM (Direct Message), view their profile, view global trending topics and local trending topics. Want to add more than one Twitter account to your FiOS TV? You can do that too; in fact, customers can add up to four accounts.
Watching your favorite show and want to add a TV celebrity to follow? You can now do that with FiOS TV’s Twitter Widget.
We’ve also added a second keyboard, and customers can now choose between a qwerty and non-qwerty keyboard like those found on mobile phones, so it’s just a matter of personal preference which one you use.
All of these updates to the Twitter Widget are available by using the FiOS TV Remote Control and on-screen menus. So you can Tweet your friends during a TV show without taking your eyes off the screen.
