Follow the Yankees on FiOS TV and Online

by on ‎04-01-2010 01:32 PM

mitt.JPGIt’s the time of year when thoughts turn to twilight double headers, the glare of stadium lights, the smell of roasted peanuts and the pop of a fastball as it rips into the padded leather of a catcher’s mitt.

If you’re a New York Yankees fan and can’t get to the stadium, Verizon will have the pinstriped world champs on TV and online from the YES Network when they launch their Major League Baseball title defense with an April 4 road game in Boston.

Again this year, Verizon FiOS TV customers with Verizon Internet service in New York as well as parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania are on deck for live online streaming of the New York Yankees baseball games during the 2010 regular season.  The high-definition, online broadcasts are available to Verizon Internet customers who subscribe to FiOS TV and live in a market that receives the YES Network on FiOS TV (channels 76 or 576).

Starting with the Yankees/Red Sox game on Sunday, a full season of live Yankees games is on tap via your FiOS Internet connection, along with game archives and other YES Network programming.  FiOS Yankees fans will have the choice of taking the online service on a month-to-month basis for $19.95 a month or they can sign up for the full season for a one-time $69.95 billing.

Can’t get enough Yankees?  Then head to FiOS TV Online, where you can sign up online and watch the Yankees from the opening pitch to the final out.

One step closer to IP TV? What about cable card users? Any special software required?

prisaz,

If you're a FiOS TV and FiOS Internet customer and live in the YES Network market, you can subscribe to these online games and watch them on your computer.  This is part of our online video offering, which we've been expanding for the past few years -- most recently with HBO GO and EPIX HD online.

For those of us in New England, outside of the market area... how do we get Yankees games on Verizon Fios? Is it even possible?

by on ‎04-06-2010 01:46 PM

thejaneomah,

For baseball fans who don't live in their team's market, MLB Extra Innings provides up to 80 out-of-market games per week during the baseball season.   It's a subscription service that is available for an Early Bird rate of $179 if you order by April 11.  You can read more about it here:
