It’s the time of year when thoughts turn to twilight double headers, the glare of stadium lights, the smell of roasted peanuts and the pop of a fastball as it rips into the padded leather of a catcher’s mitt.
If you’re a New York Yankees fan and can’t get to the stadium, Verizon will have the pinstriped world champs on TV and online from the YES Network when they launch their Major League Baseball title defense with an April 4 road game in Boston.
Again this year, Verizon FiOS TV customers with Verizon Internet service in New York as well as parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania are on deck for live online streaming of the New York Yankees baseball games during the 2010 regular season. The high-definition, online broadcasts are available to Verizon Internet customers who subscribe to FiOS TV and live in a market that receives the YES Network on FiOS TV (channels 76 or 576).
Starting with the Yankees/Red Sox game on Sunday, a full season of live Yankees games is on tap via your FiOS Internet connection, along with game archives and other YES Network programming. FiOS Yankees fans will have the choice of taking the online service on a month-to-month basis for $19.95 a month or they can sign up for the full season for a one-time $69.95 billing.
Can’t get enough Yankees? Then head to FiOS TV Online, where you can sign up online and watch the Yankees from the opening pitch to the final out.
