It’s a Weekend Made for Free Games

by Employee on ‎10-07-2009 10:09 AM

games.JPGThey’re ubiquitous on trains, at airports and even at work throughout the country – people of all ages playing games.

Recognizing that there’s an untapped little gamer in most of us and a monster gamer in many, Verizon is giving its broadband customers – FiOS Internet and Verizon High Speed Internet (HSI) – a four-day weekend of free online, on-demand games … in fact, over 1,500 of them.  The free weekend is Oct. 9-12.

For children, there’s “Bob The Builder™” and “Clifford The Big Red Dog®” games, while adults can download “The Secret of Margrave Manor 2™” or “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader.”

There’s little debate about the growing popularity of games.  A recent study by the GSN Games Network found that nearly half the audience surveyed preferred online games to watching TV, and nearly 6 in 10 said games is their favorite online activity.  Most said they play daily and spend more than 11 hours a week playing.

Whether you’re one of the devoted gamers or just a casual fan, you’ll likely find a title you like in the huge Verizon catalog.  To get started, just go to

After the four-day test drive, you will want to continue on to be part of the craze, and can subscribe to packages starting at $4.99 per month.
