Some of you may have noticed some new channels on your FiOS TV lineup in the last week. That’s because we’ve added six new Spanish-language channels to FiOS TV’s La Conexion and Spanish Language packages. The channels, described below, are now available in all FiOS TV markets. Here they are:
Cine Nostalgia (channel 1687): a 24-hour, black-and-white movie channel with “the best movies made in Mexico,” according to their recent news release. Cine Nostalgia offers a strong library from the 30s to the 60s, representing the “Golden Era” of Mexican film making.
Canal 22 (channel 1646): a cultural and educational television station owned and operated by Television Metropolitana S.A. de C.V., the broadcasting arm of the National Council for Culture and the Arts. Canal 22 features documentaries as well as educational and cultural programming.
Once TV Mexico (channel 1567): a Mexican educational broadcast television network featuring news, science and children’s programming as well as talk shows and original series, including the recent addition, “Soy tu Fan,” which provides an innovative version of the contemporary romantic comedy.
AyM Sports (channel 1535): 24-hour coverage of all the sports action in Mexico, with live matches from the second division of soccer and exclusive broadcasts of Mexican wrestling, rodeo and college sports as well as auto racing, Mexican baseball and more.
Ecuavisa Internacional (channel 1512): an international channel featuring the best in Ecuadorian television, including sports, news, politics, social issues and telenovelas including “El sereto de Toño Palomino” and more. Ecuavisa programming is a favorite of the Peruvian and Colombian communities as well.
Telemicro International (channel 1513): a Dominican channel with an extensive variety of original programming, including news, comedy, sports and general entertainment, all of which highlights the island’s culture and hospitality.
We plan to launch two more Spanish-language channels before the end of the year: Dominican View and Tele El Salvador. And there’s a good chance that a few more new channels will make it to the FiOS TV lineup before the new year. As always, I’ll keep you posted here.
