Pedro Correa is VP of Verizon Enhanced Communities. He will be hosting this week the Verizon Enhanced Communities Executive Summit in Chantilly, VA. Today, Pedro takes a look at what Verizon expects to learn from the summit.
The Verizon Enhanced Communities Executive Summit kicks off today in Chantilly, VA, Dubbed “FiOS Forward – A World Without Borders” the event brings together many of the leading multiple-family development movers and shakers. These are the folks responsible for building or managing apartment complexes, condominium communities or planned housing developments and providing their tenants and customers with the latest and greatest amenities. They are looking to differentiate themselves from the property down the street and that’s where Verizon comes in.
Verizon hosts the summit each year to give these executives an opportunity to see first hand the new technologies and innovations we can provide their properties, especially our unmatched FiOS network.
It’s also an opportunity to host discussions and presentations on the issues that especially impact this particular business segment. As the summit title suggests, this year’s focus will be on the growing consumer demand for anytime, anywhere access to the Internet and entertainment services, including movies, TV programming and social media.
This borderless lifestyle that is of particular appeal to the apartment and condo dwellers will be target of a presentation by Eric Bruno, Verizon vice president for product marketing. Eric will talk about how the FiOS network is enhancing that lifestyle and providing consumers with the opportunity to access the network – Internet, TV and voice services -- wherever and whenever they want.
There’ll be other ground covered during the summit, including a panel discussion on home healthcare initiatives designed to benefit developers and managers of senior-living communities. There’s also a discussion of emerging technologies and broadband trends featuring unique insights from a couple of industry journalists and Verizon corporate technology guru Vincent O’Byrne from our lab in Waltham, MA.
This year’s event also provides me with the opportunity to meet for the first time many of the multi-family development trendsetters and get their take on what we’re doing well and what more we can do for them.
Watch this space over the next couple of days and we’ll keep you up to speed on what we learn from the summit.
