Verizon Adds truTV HD to FiOS TV Lineup

by on ‎03-14-2011 11:15 AM

basketball.jpgIn the last few weeks we’ve given FiOS TV customers a lot of new programming options, first with the launch of ESPN live online streaming and next with MTV programming online, including “Jersey Shore” and “Teen Mom 2.”  Not to mention the latest in 3D, featuring the recent UFC live event.  Today we have more to tell, with the addition of truTV HD to the FiOS TV lineup.

As you may know, truTV offers original programming and is one of only four channels that will broadcast the 2011 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.  What does this mean for you?  It means that FiOS TV customers can watch every tournament game in high definition.

truTV HD is already available to FiOS TV customers in Texas, Florida, California, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, downstate New York and the Philadelphia area.  More FiOS TV customers will see the channel appear on their lineup tomorrow, and everyone will have it by Wednesday.  You can find the new HD channel on 683, as well as 183 in SD.

If you’re an NCAA basketball fan, make sure you check truTV, TBS, TNT and CBS for all the high-def coverage.  The action tips off with first-round coverage of the NCAA First Four tomorrow at 6:30 pm ET.

And don’t forget all of the other truTV programming available, on TV and online for FiOS customers.  That’s right – truTV programming is available online at www.verizon.com/fiostvonline.  All you need to do is sign in with your Verizon Online user name and password, and you can watch truTV and more on a personal computer or laptop at home or away, using any broadband connection.

Make sure to check out this latest high-def addition to the FiOS TV lineup, and keep a look out here for more HD, 3D and online video news very soon.

Can you please confirm that this is available in Pittsburgh PA.  CH 683 does not appear on the onscreen guide and I am unable to get to this channel.  Thanks.

kevkrawz,

truTV HD (channel 683) launched on FiOS TV in Pittsburgh today (March 16, 2011).  If you're still not seeing it,  please send me a Private Message here in the Forums with your address and contact information.

Heather:  I'm glad that Verizon is providing the NCAA tournament to everyone in HD on TruTV.  But what about MASN2 HD in Baltimore?  You have been holding the ball out on a string to us for the better part of a year now.  DC area residents get Channel 501.  Is the Baltimore area second class?  I don't want to watch the O's on standard def for half of their games.  It looks terrible on my large screen TV.  Just askin'.  Again.

chicken1,

MASN2 HD is definitely on our list of channels to add for customers who aren't already receiving it.  Continue to check back here for launch details.
