Q: Why is online safety important to Verizon?
As responsible corporate citizens, we want to share our success with our community to make the world in which we work better than it was yesterday. Promoting online safety plays an integral role in helping customers trust the services that we offer.
We take our responsibility for online safety very seriously. That’s why we help prepare our customers for the positive ways technology can be used, as well as how to deal with the challenges that can result from its misuse.
Smartphones, laptops, tablets, Xboxes and Playstations … with so much technology integrated into our lives, families today have to deal with issues and challenges that our grandparents couldn't imagine. Fortunately, we have programs and safeguards in place for customers to help create the digital experience that is right for them.
Q: What is Verizon doing to make the Internet safe for its customers?
We provide educational resources from global experts to prepare customers for integrating technology into their family’s life. We also provide first-rate parental control tools for wireless, TV and online platforms to give families more control over managing their digital experience. From education to tools to policies, our goal is to empower customers to use our technology safely and responsibly.
We’re also supporting numerous online safety industry initiatives this year. For example:
Bill oversees the Verizon telecom customer experience, consumer bundles, DSL, e-commerce and small business. He helps customers learn about efficient ways to manage their Verizon services.
Maitreyi is responsible for Verizon's entertainment products. Check out @VerizonFiOS on Twitter, for insight, thoughts & news about FiOS TV.
Alberto is in the public relations group. He loves to share tech, sustainability, feel-good, and random news of interest. A happy FiOS quad play customer, he likes to use his family as guinea pigs.
Deidre is a member of the consumer PR team and loves to talk everything FiOS and everything football. She’s also a happy Triple Play customer.
Phil has been extolling the virtues of FiOS ever since he had his Triple Play installed and can’t image how he ever managed without it. He writes about developing technologies that enable him to fuel his addiction to movies and sports whenever he wants, no matter where he is.
Caroline manages the Verizon FiOS Google+ page, capturing the latest in entertainment, technology, sports and everything in between. She loves using social media and the written word to extend the FiOS conversation.
