Have you made the changes they have been recommending for most of the year?

http://www.verizon.com/emailsettings  for regular verizon users

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/verizon/mail/ymail/basics/mail-12859445.html  (yahoo users)  NOte use the SSL settings
