Verizon.net Email

I rarely use Verizon email.  I like to empty my Verizon email but it takes very long if I have to delete the messages 50 at a time.  Is there any way to delete the 1,000 or so messages in fell swoop?  I takes forever to keep deleting them.  Span and Trash have an Empty ability but not my Inbox.  Any help would be appreciated.
