Yes. IMAP has been around for almost 20 years, it's time to implement it!

I don't see why they would implement IMAP. Does any major Internet or email provider use IMAP? I would love to have IMAP but they would have to beef up the storage space to accommodate all the mail folks would leave mail on the server.

#1 Please, point to a page of att.net showing how to setup IMAP on an E-mail Client.
#2 Please, point to a page of gmail.com showing how to setup IMAP on an E-mail Client.

Got gmail, login to your gmail account, select Settings in the upper right corner, and then POP/IMAP.
Instructions for configuring a client can be found:
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en
You can also configure your gmail to use POP to pull your Verizon mail into your Gmail account and thn use IMAP to access it from there.

Not sure i would call att.net a major provider. I left them a few weeks ago, they are circling the drain as far as I'm concerned.

Gary,
As you probably know, AT&T is indeed a major provider in those areas formerly served by SBC, Ameritech, Southern New England Tel, and, of course, BellSouth. Most of their area can get at least DSL, and some can even latch on to U-Verse.
Before I had FiOS, I was a VZ DSL subscriber. And before I got my first iMac, I used AT&T's (dialup) WorldNet Service.
"Self-employed EE", huh? I'm a formerly employed EE myself, as my job was eliminated one month ago today. However, I'm old enough to collect a pension, so, the economy being what it is, that's probably what I'll end up doing.

When is Verizon going to allow Imap with their email client. At this point when I receive email on my phone I can delete what I want but then I have to go online or via outlook to actually delete the email. I know in Outlook I can set it so that when I delete it also deletes on the server but that is now what I want I want to be able to update via Imap as I do with my exchange email and google email
