How do I paste an object ( not an attachment) or text into an e mail message?

Webmail is very simplistic and doesn't supply that construct.

Using an email client will allow you to insert (embed) graphics via HTML email as well as many more constructs that are not present in Verizon Webmail.

I disagree with the statement that Verizon webmail doesn't supply that construct. Here is a link to a thread where I documented how it works just fine for me:

However, I do agree that using an email client is a far, far superior way to manage your email. There are many email clients available, some free, some fee; I use the free Windows Live Mail, very happy with it.

OK - I concede you are correct. 

 

Webmail still doesn't have the proper constructs but you can Drag & Drop or Copy & Paste a graphic into a Webmail email body.  But there isn't 100% guarantee that all email clients can view the embedded graphic properly.  I tried and had a little difficulty viewing the graphic in one email client.  Most likely because its not properly creating MIME content.

In the below graphic (I am using a graphic because I do not see a "code" capability in the Litium forum 'ware) you see the header from a received email sent and created via a Drag & Drop operation through Webmail

This second image is from an email client actually using a grahic embed function.

So my conclusion is one can Drag & Drop or Copy & Paste a graphic into a Webmail email body but it isn't guaranteed to be viewed properly with all email clients and at best it is a "kludgy" methodology and using an email client remains the *best* way to perform email.

They are just graphics of header views so one can compare and contrast holw the mail handler embeds the graphic.

I didn't want the forum software to try to interpret the data.  Often delineated by forum software using [code][/code] construct which Lithium doesn't use.

Did you try to put it in using the Insert Code icon on the editor?

Unfortunatly the Lithium forum 'ware CODE capability does not handle it as "code".  It handles it more like a QUOTE.  URLS in CODE segments should not be "clickable" such as other forum 'wares which use [code][/code].

It appears the editor uses the preformatted text tags when you choose the Insert Code icon, I have no idea why. But I suppose if it was really important you could switch the editor to HTML mode after using the Insert Code icon and replace the pre tags with code tags. And maybe we ought to ask Verizon to ask Lithium to change the tags they use?

Anyway, I have only tested viewing the inserted pictures in one client, Windows Live Mail, but they are perfectly viewable there for me. What client did you have trouble with?
