I recently received a message telling me to change my email servers in my email software from incoming.verizon.net to pop.verizon.net and from outgoing.verizon.net to smtp.verizon.net.
I followed the instructions on setting up outlook express with the new server names.
However, I have been unable to connect to the server to retrieve my mail.
The error message is that the server is not responding.
So I did a Ping of pop, verizon net.
It returned the IP address of 206.46.232.132
All four pings returned request timed out.
Is there a problem with this server?
Do I have the wrong server name?
What can I do to get outlook express to retrieve my mail??
Thanks

They look okay to me. Make sure you have the password authentication to clear password.

Just to clarify on the pings timing out, a lot of corporate servers have ping responses disabled. Helps keep traffic controlled and helps prevent DoS ping attacks.
