Once again I am not able to delete my email messages and they are piling up... this happened a few weeks ago. Then it 'fixed itself'... Why?? Is there a setting that gets changed or something going on out there in Verizon-land?

You have not told us what email client you are using. Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora?
These issues are usually related to the settings in your email client.
If you are using Verizon's web based email, that's a different problem entirely.
So more information is needed in order to answer your question.

Our home is having the same problem! Using web based email - we've used Safari and Firefox and the B&N Nook. Can't delete!

I use Outlook 2010 on a Window 7 home computer, and the messages are downloaded and saved on the hard drive. Sometimes when out of town I access email via the web on a Vista laptop, but the messages are not downloaded. The number of messages at Verizon are increasing, and it is time-consuming to go through and delete them piece-by-piece. Is there any way to have them erased, either when down loaded, or after a short time (for safety's sake, say two weeks)?

There should be an option in Outlook under the leave a copy on server option to "delete after __ days"

I am unable to find the "leave a copy on the server" option in Outlook 2010. Please tell me how to get there! Thanks.
