Fox Soccer Channel has lost the rights to broadcast football (soccer) games from top European leagues La Liga (Spain) and Serie A (Italy). Al Jazeera Sports Network has won the rights to broadcast those games for the 2012-2013 seasons onward. They will broadcast the games on their sports channels beIN Sports 1 and beIN Sports 2 which are currently not part of your FiOS channel lineup.
Unless Verizon adds these channels to their FiOS lineup, Verizon customers in North America will be unable to see any games from La Liga and Serie A. The games won't be available online through legal channels either. This means that Verizon customers will have no access to games from such high profile teams such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, etc.
Please add beIN Sports 1 and beIN Sports 2 to the FiOS channel lineup.
Please add the new Blaze News channel to your network.
How about the NASA channel(s). That one is free and you do not have to fight over rights to air it. It has only been asked for like the past three years.
Since BBC-HD has already been asked for I'll as for some more. I have the Ultimate HD package and have little interest in sports, yet that seems to be all we're getting as far as new channels these days.
Cartoon Network HD has tons of new HD programing, the Brave and the Bold, Sym-Bionic Titan, etc.
Since Funimation switched over to HD, FIOS now streams the HD channel downconverted on the SD channel and it looks terrible. The resulting picture is either 4:3 letterboxed, or even worse, for 4:3 programming we have a postage stamp sized picture. It's virtually unwatchable. Please add them as a full HD channel ASAP.
Thanks for listening.
Right now, FiOS shows actors names that are in the movies, however I think they should add the commentators names that are broadcasting the sports event. Also include the sideline reports names.
Another thing is adding more HD channels:
I would like to see FiOS TV drop the SD version of any stations that are available in HD. It is a waste of coax bandwidth to have both SD and HD versions of the same station. As for customers that still have SD displays, in my experience I have not had issues viewing the HD channels on an SD display.
The PAC-12 conference (formerly the PAC-10) just announced that they will be launching their own network (similar to the Big Ten network already on Fios) in August of 2012 for the start of the 2012 college football season and will be broadcasting a significant chunk of conference football and men's basketball games on this channel, as well as other sports involving conference members. FIOS needs to be on the ball on this and be ready to add this in HD as soon as it launches in August 2012.
FIOS just dropped Tennis Channel. Therefore, I will drop FIOS. Seems fair.
(Yes, I know Verizon and Cablevision and possibly other cable companies have an issue with which packages will cover TC. I don't care.)
Hi, I just got an email from "Willow TV" that they have started a 24 hour cricket channel on Dish Network and Direct TV. This will be the most desirable channel for millions and millions of south east asia cricket fans especially since almost ALL the cricket action around the world is shown on "Willow TV". This includes the "Indian Premier League" played every year and followed by milions. Additionally, the "Cricket World Cup" is coming up in Feb/March 2011 where all the top cricket nations of the world will be participating. Can this channel be added to Verizon Fios line up as a subscription channel or as part of the south indian channels package? Thanks.
Having more storage would be great, but conflicting record times and recording two while watching a third would be good. Provide a good DVR with more than two tuners, and an option for existing customers to upgrade to this DVR. I would pay $20 a moth for this but not the existing HM-DVR.
Favorites or not, Subscribed or not. Putting this marketing trash in your face type stuff in the channel line up is just plain wrong. I see enough of it as the first thing that pops up when I press menu. I agree there is a VOD button on the remote, also a menu for VOD. Get the trash out of our line up! YES I DO FEEL STRONGLY ABOUT THIS TOO. How about filling those spaces with more HD channels. Other providers have passed Verizon on the national channel lineup front. And we have FiOS what a shame.
It is like when you walk into a store and you can't keep a sales agent off your back. That doesn't happen as much now days because many places you can't find help when you want to buy things. Verizon is #1 in marketing I will give them that.
PS.
Even with using the subscribed channels feature in 1.9, the VOD advertisement channels pop up between the subscribed channels in the guide. So if you only want to see your subscribed channels, you still must put up with the marketing. VOD are not subscribed channels, unless you are only going to show us free stuff that we can view.
Programming Vote Board like this board, but different.
No comments allowed.
Only Votes with a restriction to the posts message body size. Limiting the body to a brief description of the channel.
No duplicate channel requests. If you want a channel, vote for it.
This could weed out the many repeat posts on the Programming board, and help track who wants what.
Think this is a good idea? Vote for it.
Other providers are offering GolTV HD and ESPN Deportes in HD, when will Verizon offer these in HD. I am paying well over $100 mostly just to get to the soccer broadcasts and I missing out on all the HD games.
Several channels now broadcast good soccer games, e.g. ESPN's HD, FSW HD. But the main channels are Fox Soccer Channel, GolTV, and ESPN Deportes, which verizon does not offer in HD. If verizon were to offer these in HD consider not pricing so high, e.g. FSW+ now at $15 even in HD is too high if you consider that the customer already has Ultimate FIOS. So come up with some creative combinations, e.g. Extreme HD plus the above.
And keep in mind that GolTV and ESPN Deportes should be available without having to subscribe to the Spanish Package.
It's Here! I'm overjoyed and you will be too! beIN sports is here!
