There needs to be a 1-click method to getting to our widgets--basically, a Widget version of the channel favorites. In addition--or by way of doing this--let us delete the default widgets that appear in the scroll.
What's the point in decreeing we can't delete the default widgets? Does Verizon think that if we're forced to have the Horoscope widget there, we'll eventually give in and look at it? If you want to put in certain ones by default, fine, but let us customzie them. The user should be able to put the Widgets they desire into the screentop scroll, and ONLY the ones they desire.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF FIOS OFFERED A WAY TO ACCESS INTERNET SITES. I WOLD LOVE TO GET TO MY SHUTTERFLY, AOL, ITUNES, WORK EMAIL AND OTHER THINGS WHILE I AM WATCHING A PROGRAM OR IN BETWEEN SHOWS..............MAYBE EVEN AN OPTIONAL WIRELESS KEYBOARD
Would you please get your wheather wiget fixed!! When I try to add zip codes it says "not a valid zipcode"--better yet get rid of "wheatherbug" and add either the wheather channel or accu wheather. Also, please consider adding a better selection of widgets-much like Directv.
Works with many major streaming offerings except Verion Redbox Instant and Amazon Instant Video.
Supported steaming services:
Players exist for about any device: Windows PC, Macs, Roku, Apple TV, ipads, iPhones, Android, Windows phones, PS4, Xbox, various Blue Ray/ DVD players.. except of course Verion STBs.
I just bought a DVD/Blue ray DVD and it came with a UV code so now I can stream that movie on any platorm or service that supports UV. Why can't this customer friendly service be available from Verizon STBs?
I submitted this idea to comscat when I worked there in 2005, they said the technology wasn't there, so maybe you can use it.
The idea is the option to search channels by genre i.e.: sports channels will be in their own folder, women TV will be in another, movie channels will be in another and so on and so forth. This will really enhance the interactive guide and make searching for the exact channels you are looking for a whole lot easier. No more having to remember where your channels are in the guide, just select the genre your channel would be in like the science channel would be in science and technology. That simple, and on top of that your customers will see those channels that they would have never known they had. I know with comcast there were at least 6 channels that I had no idea I had, with the genre searching there will be no more channels hiding in the far reaches of the guide.
I know if Verizon had the genre based guide feature I would use it all the time, and maybe the rest of the Verizon community. Im not saying replace the current guide with this, just enhance the guide with this feature.

Since you offer Facebook as a Widget, please create a way to have a USB transmitter link to a wireless keyboard, or a reaaaally looooooooooong cord for a wired keyboard, so I can access Facebook in a more traditional manner. (Thanks, lacticacidtrip!)
When working with text entry fields on most FiOS TV widgets, there is a button to change from letters to symbols - however on the text entry screen for logging into the Pandora wudget, this button is strangely absent. Shucks... my e-mail address has a minus ( - ), and thus I have no way to access tthe Pandora account I already pay for on my TV and Hi-Fi system.
Please consider adding a symbols button, or at least the most rudimentary symbols to the log-in screen of Pandora and any other widgets which might not have it. Thanks!
Email and Web at your TV? I believe someone tried Web TV and it did not go well. But this could be different.
Now if Verizon were to have a browser in the STB which is possible since it is Linux based. I would go for that, and a slide out keyboard on the remote, with a mouse that would move based on positioning of the remote. Not like the TiVO remote but different. Don't want anymore time in court. There are many open source browsers that could be used. Sell the remote as an option, but don't charge for the browser use. Verizon would have a feature that other providers don't. Now let's see if Verizon can do it before Tivo or someone else. I don't think anyone has it in a STB or DVR.
Perhaps this could be a Widget Plug in, so a new img would not be required?
Having to install MediaMgr on the PC just to use these features is a burden. Don't the cableboxes have built-in modems? It would be much more convinient if you could use these features without running your PC all the time.
Why does Verizon not put a widget for the Red box on all the stb so our customer can enjoy the service. Plus if we are going to do the mobile app they must first get it right . The other company like comcast will let you watch live TV's and what is saved on your dvr.
