Email and Web at your TV? I believe someone tried Web TV and it did not go well. But this could be different.
Now if Verizon were to have a browser in the STB which is possible since it is Linux based. I would go for that, and a slide out keyboard on the remote, with a mouse that would move based on positioning of the remote. Not like the TiVO remote but different. Don't want anymore time in court. There are many open source browsers that could be used. Sell the remote as an option, but don't charge for the browser use. Verizon would have a feature that other providers don't. Now let's see if Verizon can do it before Tivo or someone else. I don't think anyone has it in a STB or DVR.
Perhaps this could be a Widget Plug in, so a new img would not be required?
A Pandora internet radio Widget would be nice. With the 1.8 and 1.9 updates and Pandora your DVR would be better then Tivo.
Since the change to Weatherbug to The Weather Channel default widget, TWC is not automatically picking up the customers location for the extended forecast. Its been a few weeks, I thought this would be fixed by now. It worked fine with Weatherbug. The initial screen on widgets does show the customers town, but NOT the extended forecast, comes up as Dallas TX. Further, you can go in and "edit location" but does not stick.
Also, under the SD OVERIDE, it would be nice if ZOOM was added along with Stretch. many people would prefer ZOOM (3X's hitting # (size) button) as default on all SD channels.
Why does resume not work on-demand after it stops? This continues on as a problem. People have to FF all the way through from the beginning.
Would be nice if eventually the DVR can hold folders for users, eg, my wifes whows go in her folder, the kids in theirs, I would get my own folder. The list used for EVERYONE gets so long.
Thanx
In the 'FiOS Mobile Remote' app for Android devices (on the Google Nexus 7 tablet), the login credentials are not being recognized, and the pairing of the remote on the app with the set top box (in conjunction with the 'FiOS Mobile Remote' TV widget) is not working.
The 'FiOS Mobile Remote' app is also a component of the 'My FiOS' app for Android devices.
The rest of the components of the 'My FiOS' app for Android seem to be working fine.
Please see this forum thread for details:

Thank you!
Internet streaming is the latest way for non traditional competitive events, and specifically console and computer gaming, to be distributed to the masses. TwitchTV is the premier streaming community online. A TwitchTV widget would allow customers to be able to watch live professional gaming tournaments on the television without the need to hook their television to a computer.
So I have tried to use the FIOS Olympics widget. Might be ok, if it worked consistently.
Here's my comments:
1) Widget keeps timing out. Either when I just try and launch it or when I try and change from news to schedule. All other widgets work fine and so does VOD. Just to double check, ran In Home agent and it said network is fine.
2) Would be nice if it remembered last thing you looked at on the widget. Meaning why always default to news. I am usually looking for schedule.
3) Why does it only show NBCSN channel in widget? I could understand if they didn't want to show non-Olympics channels.
But tonight I had the TV on local NBC channel (the only channel showing Olympics). When I started up the widget, it would only show NBCSN channel in the window. Which is currently showing a MLS game. Should be able to read guide and see if selected channel is showing Olympics.
Can't imagine these issues can be corrected before Olympics end (except for maybe #1 as it could be a server issue).
So they have 2 years until Winter Olympics to get it right.
put better games like text twist , scabbie, chains 2 , or adventure games or allow to download them to widgets i am knew to fios if you can do this please let me know
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF FIOS OFFERED A WAY TO ACCESS INTERNET SITES. I WOLD LOVE TO GET TO MY SHUTTERFLY, AOL, ITUNES, WORK EMAIL AND OTHER THINGS WHILE I AM WATCHING A PROGRAM OR IN BETWEEN SHOWS..............MAYBE EVEN AN OPTIONAL WIRELESS KEYBOARD
1. Back at the end of February our AP Widget was removed for updating. It is now the end of May when will the AP Associated Press widget be back up on the Fios Widgets? I still have not received a definitive answer. It's been almost 3 months. It was one of the most valued widget services that Verizon Fios offered besides the Traffic and Weather widgets.
2. On the Fios Traffic Widget it would be very helpful if the town was noted in the traffic updates; they just state street or highways not the towns where the traffic problems are.
Please inform the Management Team or Department who runs these particular services.
I would be most grateful as the many other Fios Customers if these issues were Addressed especially the AP (Associated Press Widget and get it back up on the Fios widget menu again.
I live in the 08879 area of New Jersey.
Thank you for your anticipated assistance.
Loyal Fios Customer Since the Beginning that Fios Rolled Out.
I am very, very disappointed to learn, after switching from DirecTV, where I had easy access to all of YouTube on my TV through the remote, that one not only has to run YouTube through the "Media Manager" for Fios, but that I couldn't run it AT ALL because I have a Mac! Why can't Fios offer the same access as DirecTV?? Fail!
Seems as though every time I go to list voicemail on stb, I get asked if I want to enable parental control. Should have a way to answer and then disable from asking again.
Hello,
It would be nice if when you called up certain widgets they either slid out from the side of the screen or overlaid the screen at the top or bottom of the program you are watching. Widgets like weather, fantasy football, and facebook, are great examples of widgets that could benefit from this type of action. Having to leave or pause a television program to click several buttons to call up a new screen to look at these widgets is not very user friendly in my opinion. It is much easier to go to my iPad or iPhone and is the reason why I don't really use Fios widgets. I think Verizon is missing the boat here.
Thanks,
Eric
Please update the widgets so that they now show in widescreen like everything else in 1.9.
Also some of the apps on the initial widget screen cannot be removed. I would like the ability to remove the ones that I never use.
Add a internet browser (like Firefox or Google Chrome) or a widget that will allow subscribers to watch espn3 through the set top box instead of having to use a seperate computer.
I submitted this idea months ago but with no reply, so I am submitting it again until I can get a reply.
Having to install MediaMgr on the PC just to use these features is a burden. Don't the cableboxes have built-in modems? It would be much more convinient if you could use these features without running your PC all the time.
