Media Manager 64bit support PLEASE.

Status: Acknowledged
by All Star prisaz All Star ‎01-16-2011 07:42 AM - edited ‎01-16-2011 03:31 PM

Please provide better 64 bit support for media manager. Running it as administrator as your installation does, will not fix the issues. Your product does not list the publisher in the latest version, and does not even load when logging on. Please provide an update A.S.A.P.! Many of the DVR features now depend on this software, and many users are now running Windows 7 64bit, or Windows Vista 64bit. If you want uses to make better use of FlexView, IP radio and other feature, you need to provide better support for your software. Why can it not run as a service so you can use it without logging into your PC? If a PC is required for the DVR to work.

UPDATE Inhome agent is the same way. Everything Verizon writes wants to be an administrator. Come on! Develope apps with signed drivers and code that will run without being God!

Support TIFF Format in Media Manager

Status: Acknowledged
by KenB4 on ‎01-09-2011 09:30 AM

I am  in the process of converting slide film to digital images and prefer to maintain them as lossless TIFF files.   I notice that Media Manger does not recognize this format currently and am requesting that it be added so that we can show our family photos on all of our TVs.

Thank you,

Ken Bour

Expand Verizon FiOs to Navarre, Fl

Status: New Idea
by Jon_Jr on ‎10-19-2011 05:48 PM

To start things off, I am a second year sophomore in college. So, to put it straight forward I know almost nothing about business. What I can say about myself to where I can give myself some credentials is that I graduated high school a year earlier than my class because of my grades.

TO THE POINT:

                 - I live in a rural area that is monopolized by AT&T. I have also live here for ten years. And over these ten years I've heard over hundreds of high school students, middle school, and yes even elementary students firmly say that AT&T needs to be kicked out of Navarre by Verizon. There are roughly 40 - 50K people who live in this city, and we are absolutely SICK of AT&T and their LIES. From family that have been die hard customers of Verizon I firmly believe Navarre would greatly appreciate a Company that actually cares about their customers and gives good service rates. Verizon would strike gold (in my opinion) by moving into the Navarre region. Not only would Verizon have civilian backing, but also Military, Corporation, and Schools all happy to upgrade to an amazing company like Verizon. I've talked with several managers with the businesses that I have worked at over the past two summers (mostly hotels) and the biggest complaints from their customers are the internet is too slow. Heck, even the minimum residential FiO package would be better than anything AT&T has to offer.

- So to put things straight: Please try expanding business into the Navarre and Pan Handle region. Everyone would greatly appreciate the freshness provided over the stink that AT&T produces.

- If and when anyone reads this, thank you for reading, considering, and commenting. I appreciate the opportunity to speak out.

Video Streaming through Media Manager

Status: Acknowledged
by franklins on ‎11-06-2010 08:11 PM

I enjoy displaying the photos, videos and FM radio from my laptop on the TV.

It will be nice if there is an option to add an online video streaming link to media manager and access that online video from TV using Media Manager.

This might be a great value added for Verizon Media manager.

I understand that the Caribbean Basin is starving for good sat. comms and channels plus its what close to 10million clients getting satellite from pirated signals. Digicel MIGHT BE a good partner in these ventures.

:smileymad: Hello verizon dont mind the face just like it but ok here i go listen up good cause if you could pull this off i think this should make verizon that much better... like it really needs to be jeesh you basically got everything lol ok. you guys have this thing called MEDIA MANAGER which currently is not workin well at all sorry to burst your bubble but its true. the first thing it needs is to run as light as possible not everyones comp unfortunately runs great so ther for lighter programs always win. second most important thing is to get the most supported files list for everything as many as possible so that people dont have any problems uploading their stuff to the program to play on there t.v. 3rd it needs to be able to work on more then 1 t.v all boxes or hd whatever you need to do the more the merrier.. fourth is to incorporate assistance for it not everyone in your tech center knows anything really about this i know its a free program but by supporting this and leaving it free you will have more customers whanting to own verizon or stay with there internet plans etc... its a win win situation for everyone. ok now for verizon and the customers who do not understand what media manager is and what it does heres where u might wanna listen. i dont know if anyones heard about the new lil technology called google t.v and thers others out ther that do the same thers equipment etc.. anyways ther out ther already doing what media manager can accomplish if they really whant to. ok this is called WIRELESS transfer of your comp data onto your t.v. ok imagine a program called MEDIA MANAGER that you can install on your comp that lets you remote access your computer files like music and videos mostly but some webpages etc... without any wires from your remote on your hd BIG t.v and can play view and listen to them through your big or better speakers like HOME THEATRE  !!!  now picture that your at home and whant to throw a party or just clean your house etc... take your comp start up program put away laptop or desktop and can listen or view your computers stuff anywhere on any t.v in your house !!! possiblities are endless or surf some webpages ? for maybe recipes youtube whatever you like think about it doesnt this sound great ! well support me and tell verizon with me to make this happen anyways im done lol :smileytongue:

Perhaps some nearby caching for services such as Steam?

Status: Already Exists
by Gold Contributor VII ‎12-23-2010 08:36 PM - edited ‎12-23-2010 08:40 PM
Considering that I happen to be an avid gamer who uses Steam, I've always noticed that every single download I run over Steam has to travel over other networks in order to reach a Steam Content server. Considering on how much Steam has grown lately, including both Mac and PCs as well as the large library it has for both platforms, I was wondering why a company like Verizon who offers Fiber to the home services doesn't have caching servers for services such as Steam on the network that can be reached. I was thinking that it might be a good idea for Verizon to start placing Steam content servers on the Verizon network in key locations, near FiOS-lit areas, such as Buffalo or New York City and have local peering to said servers, allowing for very fast downloads due to the low latency and the avoidance of going over other transit providers, and also due to the fact that we'd be avoiding the public content servers. It'd give FiOS and even the DSL a little more value. I know this doesn't have to be limited to Steam, but come on, now that 150Mbps service is out, you have to offer something that will use all of that bandwidth for what it's worth!

This capability exists for companies like Steam.. it is called "Partner Port" and it lets Internet content providers put their servers in VZ facilities...

Commercial Music

Most companies make their commericial music available for download.  I was specifically looking for Jingle Bells Our House mashup...  by the time Verizon make it available (if ever), the season will have passed.  This isn't a new concept, as I have several tunes (that work with my itunes library in fact) downloaded from car companies.  Great way to get new people to the site and for existing customers to easily access other music.  Just a thought.  I think Verizon really missed out on an opportunity this time around and frustrated myself and others who've searched endlessly for the file. :smileysad:

Ok,

Is there a way to download the flexview movies to my sd card verses my phone. It would help a great deal if the movies I bought from verizon could be saved there and not to the main storage on my smartphone. I have a 64gb sd card that I purchased just for this but the movies if I download them go direcly to my phone.

Please help or give the option to select the sd card.

Thanks,

So sorry you weren't able to get you movie downloaded to your preference. I currently don't have an answer for you, but I can reach out to the appropriate team for clarity. Thanks for the suggestion.

Flex View, Customer Service, and Website

Status: Duplicate
by agtherrien on ‎01-30-2013 04:05 PM

I work in the tech field and I am so frustrated right now I want to cancel my service.

First, the website is awful. There is so many redirects its slow and keeps signing me out when I am trying to locate anything. An upgrade and overhaul wouldnt hurt.

Second, Technical Assistance....Not so much, I called tonight and the person didnt know the answer to my question at all. Can I view live TV on my iPad through my STB? Can I watch SHO on my iPad anyplace? How do I import my content into the Media manager so I can access the content remotely, and finally, why when I am signed in on my iPad and I try and access my content does it tell me I have to sign up when I have authorized my device?

Lastly, Flex View...change the name, nothing flexible about it. Help...Before I just cancel.

I read a news headline this morning that was the opposite of the truth of the story within.   This is propaganda!   Please stop participating in lies.  Are you working for an organization or are you an independent company?  Please change your policies regarding reporting the news.

I appreciate the 32GB of free space, but it would be nice to have the option to add more space. Perhaps you could charge customers to add an additional 100GB, 200GB, or more of storage. If I had more space, I would never need to use my iPod again. My smart phone with MM is all I'd need. Of course there's the small issue of not being able to add all songs from an album, which I still don't understand why that is. In some cases, MM is only able to add about 50% of the songs from an album.

Thanks for the consideration.
