Live TV App

Status: Acknowledged

More channels are needed for the Live TV App. Especially local sports channels like The YES Network and SNY. Is there any possibility that more channels may be added?

Status: Acknowledged

I would like the functionality to change channels using the Fios Mobile Remote app when I am not home. My specific need is because I have a family member that has issues using the remote control. I would like to be able to change channels for them when I am at work. There are numerous handicaps/ special needs that would benefit from this 'remote' remote control feature. Access to the 'remote' remote feature could be limited via a setting in the 'Accessibily' menu (if folks have concerns about allowing this) or as part of setting up Mobile Phone Access. Also, having the ability to see if the STB is on, and what channel is currently on would be helpful, so you can verify that the change happened. Thanks.

I definitely see how that could be helpful to you. Your submission has been forwarded to the appropriate team.

Why can't the iOS apps let you manage DVR recording series, its just silly that I can create or cancel a series from my iOS devices but I can't manage the features of the series recording like retention, HD or SD, only new episodes, etc. And please, please please, integrate the various iOS apps, I don't think it makes one ounce of sense to make a user switch between 2 or 3 or even 4 different apps just to use/manage FiOS TV service....

Two Ideas

I really enjoyed the Ipad Fios Mobil app. Yes that is in the past. The latest update broke it and it no longer opens. Please don't suggest to uninstall and reinstall. I did that three times. The app is BROKEN and it needs fixing. My suggestion is to test the updates before posting them in the app storage for download.

It also bothers me that Verizon is NOT up front about the 50/25 FIOS service. Verizon needs to tell uneducated consumers that the type of wireless modem Verizon supplies will NOT allow wireless streaming of HD content inside you house. The 801.11 b/g router that Verizon supplies CAN NOT stream HD content. Verizon advertises the high Internet speed to steam HD content but fails to tell the customer you must wire your house with CAT 6 cable and/or use the Verizon modem as a bridge only and set up your own 801.11 n or better router. You have the Technology to make it better than it is. Verizon has left Time Warner in the dust.... Why not make your growing customer base a HAPPY customer base by being upfront.
Thank you.

Why does the iPad APP not stream local channels?

Status: In Progress
by deemota on ‎03-18-2013 04:27 PM

Makes no sense to me since the cable channels it streams are so limited, then why can't we have local channels? FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS. Seema like a big miss here.

Today's FIOS Mobile for iPad app, indeed delivers 75 national channels. Good news is that we've got plans in motion to enhance with Locals, so stay tuned...

DVR App

Status: Acknowledged
by MrElemental2 on ‎02-28-2013 05:19 PM

When I first signed up for FIOS the DVR had an app of its own. This was great for me because if was away from home and wanted to record a show I could do so very quickly and easily. But for some reason they rolled the DVR app into the larger FIOS app. Why was this done? It just adds an extra step, not sure why anyone would prefer this. I don't use any of the other features of the new app, so it's a waste to have combined them. Please bring back the old app so customers have the option.

Previous versions had the ability to power on/off the set-top box. The current version is missing this feature.

Thanks for the input. I will be passing this over to the FiOS App team. Glad to hear you are using a Verizon app.

Verizon apps on the iPad and iPhone - Status?

Status: Launched
by on ‎02-04-2013 04:45 AM

Good morning,

A few community members have reported that the Verizon apps on the iPad and iPhone have disappeared from the App Store.

And it seems that as of this morning, the following apps (FiOS Mobile, My FiOS, FiOS Remote and Media Manager) are not available via search in the App Store for iPad and iPhone apps.

I have had these apps installed for awhile on my own home devices, and they have been working fine.

Could you let us know of the status regarding these apps? Perhaps there are updates being made...

Thanks so much!

I'm sorry for the frustrations! All the apps should be back in the store by this afternoon- so please keep checking. If you don't see it, please let me know. Thanks, Heather

I have caller ID on my home phone and even on my TV.

But I want caller ID on my iphone MyFIOS app to show a notification of incoming home phone calls WHILE THE HOME PHONE IS RINGING. You offer after-the-fact email notification of incoming calls, but by then it is too late to decide whether i need to answer.

You should know that Comcast, and likely other competitors, offer this functionality in their iphone app.

iPhone MyFIOS app needs access to voicemail!!

You call the iphone MyFios app the command center for all FIOS services. But one out of the main three services (home phone) is not accessible at all through this app! This is a mind-boggling oversight! I see that the Android MyFios app offers access to voicemail, so why not the iPhone app?

You should be aware that Comcast, and I'm sure other competitors, offer this function via their smartphone apps.

I should be able to see a nice list of my voicemails and play them, delete them, forward them, etc. from my iphone.

In the 'FiOS Mobile Remote' app for Android devices (on the Google Nexus 7 tablet), the login credentials are not being recognized, and the pairing of the remote on the app with the set top box (in conjunction with the 'FiOS Mobile Remote' TV widget) is not working.

The 'FiOS Mobile Remote' app is also a component of the 'My FiOS' app for Android devices.

The rest of the components of the 'My FiOS' app for Android seem to be working fine.

Please see this forum thread for details:

Thank you!

Watching DVR or TV channels on a PC

Status: Under Review
by wdp on ‎01-13-2013 07:09 AM

I would love to have the ability to watch my DVR shows on my PC like I could with Direct TV. Making it easier to see live TV on a PC would be nice also. Thats something Verizon should be trying to do.

Please check back for future updates.

I am die hard blackberry user as much as a Verizon FIOS fan. I saw Verizon trying to expand business by reaching out to mobile platforms by developing apps for mobile devices. Hence I would also like similar mobile app for BlackBerry devices. Both Tablet and Smartphones. This will help Verizon even reach greater market segments,. Please consider.
