We just recently changed our phone number to a new unpublished number. Since most numbers are recycled, you are at the mercy of whomever or whatever have the previous owners' information. The previous owner of this number had multiple bad debts and apparently gave it out to everyone, their landscapng company, and their dog.
You are only allowed to block 10 specific phone numbers and you cannot block numbers that are "unavailable". Here's what I would like to see...
1. Allow more than 10 numbers in the list. I managed to fill that up a week after I enabled it.
2. Allow blocking based upon the caller ID and not only the number. I get lots of calls from "UNAVAILABE" with phone number "UNAVAILABLE". Trust me, I don't want to talk to them. I'd like to block all calls from "MONTANA", "UTAH", and "TEXAS". I don't know anyone there and I don't want to hire them to reduce my credit card rate.
3. Allow blocking of area codes or partial numbers. I want to be able to enter "(978) 685-????" or "(406) *" and limit my annoyance from these places.
4. Allow call notification and call blocking at the same time.
I often sit down and see that a movie I want to see has already started. I do not want to watch it and it may not be on again for a while. It would be nice if I could create a wish list. The STB could then notify me if the movie comes on VOD or is scheduled to be shown again.
Another great idea would be if I could ad movies that are just released to my wish list. I often see commercials for movies that I want to see but never get out to see them. If I could add them to my wish list, I would be reminded when they come on VOD or the schedule.
I would like to see the following added to the info for movies;
1. Critcal rating, such as a 1-5 star system. This would help me choose what to watch when I am not familiar with the movie.
2. Whether a movie is animated, live action, or a combination.
3. Actual run time for the movie, not the time slot. This would help in determining how much commercial time is included.
4. Whether or not the network is commercial free. With all the new movie networks on the air its hard to keep track, and I HATE commercials. That's why I pay extra for premium movie channels.
5. Whether the movie is black and white or color, letterbox or formatted, or otherwise edited in any way, shape, or form.
6. Directorial credits.
As you can see, there is much work to do to get your guide up to my standards.
Thank you.
Here is a suggestion, what about having Americans (USA) handle your support department. Nothing is more frustrating than navigating through 10 minutes of automated prompts to reach an individual from another country who is harder to follow than the automated service. Your support is the worse. Huh, Can you repeat that..... Say it again, I didn't understand you.... Excuse me, one more time please.
What makes it even uglier is when they don"t understand me. And then they put you on long holds to find the resolution to the problem that they understood you saying,.... Not the problem you told them you were having.
It would also be nice to have a rep call you back when they disconnect the call while trying to put you on hold to test the line. Now I am repeating the whole calling process.... THIS IS A WASTE OF MY TIME !!!!!
Allow netflix subscribers to stream directly from the STB to their TV
I am a FiOS 3 play subscriber. I hate having to boot up to access my FiOS Internet. So, Instead of having to use a computer with my FiOS internet, can you make a channel dedicated to accessing the internet?
You could also have the STB front USB accept the USB nubs that allow for a wireless keyboard and mouse.
Please look into this, as this is 2013, so seriously there is No need to be last millennium. Thanks.
I came across a program that my father in-law would love to watch and I really wanted an easy way to share it with him.
I was thinking that if I could 'share' a program with another FIOS customer via the 'info' menu for a particular program. Then the other customer would recieve a small notification on their TV indicating that I have shared a program. When that customer selects their notification, they are taken to the program that was shared (assumes access to that channel). When that customer is on this shared program, the notifcation just changes to a small message indicating I shared it with them and then disappears after about 5 seconds.
I think content providers would really like knowing customers can have a social feature like this as well.
I have a "bundle" discount for phone and internet and some other discount for having "one bill" with my cell phone and home services
My apartment has only ONE phone jack. I had used a splitter to plug in both my phone and internet but the phone was interfering with the internet (yes, I had the filter on the phone line) so I had to unplug the phone or risk 3 hours on the phone with tech support to reset my motem every 3 days.
I wanted to have the phone disconnected and save myself 25.00 a month, but without phone service I can't get internet...with current technology, this is ridiculous! My town will apparently never get FIOS so I am forced to start looking to the cable company to see what they can do for me. It's a shame since I have never gone to another phone company since it was Bell Telephone.....Sorry Verizon but I work too hard for my money to give it to a company that isn't being as loyal to me as I've been to them!
I don't know where the responsibility for this lies within Verizon but can't you do something about the timing of your commercials? Commercials are bad enough but when one commercial (presumably broadcast channel sourced) is interrupted 5 seconds in by another commercial (presumably Verizon sourced) it drives me nuts. To make matters worse, the Verizon sourced commercial often overlaps the broadcast show because the timing is off. You need to synchronize your watches!!! ![]()
During freeviews both VOD and remote DVR scheduling should be enabled.
Went to try and remotely schedule (during the freeview period) a couple of movies on EPIX for the March "freeview" (during the freeview period) only to go through the whole process and get an error message saying I am not subscribed. Also have tried in the past to use VOD with a simialr error message from the STB.
Fios on Demand needs much improvement. I have seen Charter and DirectV on demand and any TV program can be caught up on but not on FIOS. Generally most programs are not free. For the cost we pay every month you should be able to catch up on any normal programming? Are we ever going to change this or at least offer it online?
Please enable full information screen when viewing DVR list.
Stop pushing the same upgrade everytime that I logon. If I didn't want it yesterday, I don't want it today. Remind me next time is not a reasonable option. Allow me to continue. Thank you.
I see that HBO and Starz provide closed captioning on their 3D on Demand movies, but Verizon's $5.99-6.99 a pop 3D movies don't provide this essential service for the hearing impaired.
It would be nice to have an Operators Manual for DVRs and STBs. Not an installation guide, but a guide that shows the menus, and explains the function of each item. Software Guide and Release Notes for each img. Provide this in PDF prior to releasing changes and publish it for users to get the most from their FiOS TV experience.
