So i got 50mbps/10mbps plan a month ago. I get 35-20 Mbps wireless. Is this normal? I live in a condo with 1 laptop and 4 smartphones connected.
Sounds like you have FiOS instead of Verizon's ADSL product.
What router do you have?
The speed is only guaranteed hard wired. If you have the REV I router you can change it from compatibility mode to performance mode if all your wireless devices are N capable. Make sure you are using WPA2 encryption. WEP slows down connection. Make sure you have the latest driver for your wireless card. Run the fios speed optimizer on your computer. Reboot your computer and test again using speedtest.verizon.net.
