This has been causing games such as Final Fantasy XIV to lag. Problems began Sept 30th, 2013 for me, but appear to have been reported several times.
Is there any way to manually assign a different route via the Verizon FiOS router?

We would really appreciate some help from the Verizon support team on this. This is becoming a more widespread problem across multiple ISPs. If we can not get Square Enix to fix it, there has to be a work around from this side. Thanks.

I'm encountering this exact same issue. The timeout and lag is unbearable. At this point I may look to switching ISP. This same issue with alter.net happened last spring 2013 as well.
