Acer Windows Home Server and Actiontec
planobunnygirl

I have an Acer home server and actiontec router with fios. The remote access worked fine for https, http, from remote sites for two weeks. Then stopped working.

i'm assuming there's something wrong in the port forwording settings. The only thing that has happend is there was a power surge in the area and reset my modem/router. It hasn't worked right after that. But i'm not sure if could also just be that fios is blocking the ports i need to access my home server.

Has anyone set one of these up and have it working correctly? please let me know what port forwarding settings and or anything else you had to do to get it working.

section 4.3

Restrictions on Use. The Service is a consumer grade service and is not designed for or intended to be used for any commercial purpose. You may not resell the Service, use it for high volume purposes, or engage in similar activities that constitute such use (commercial or non-commercial). If you subscribe to a Broadband Service, you may connect multiple computers/devices within a single home to your modem and/or router to access the Service, but only through a single Verizon-issued IP address. You also may not exceed the bandwidth usage limitations that Verizon may establish from time to time for the Service, or use the Service to host any type of server. Violation of this section may result in bandwidth restrictions on your Service or suspension or termination of your Service

but if you had previous settings that worked, and your router had been reset... then, yes you would need to reconfigure your settings in the router

#1 In the router go to Advanced -> IP Address Distribution

#2 What is the DHCP range?

#3 When you forward the ports, what IP Address did you try to forward to?
