ActionTec MI424 Wireless Won't Connect

I just got Verizon FiOs service and was happy to hear that it comes with a free wireless router.  Imagine my dismay that the wireless wont connect or stay connected and for the few minutes that it is connected the service is extremely slow, less than 2 Mbps.

Anyone else have this problem?  I called tech support and they sent a new router.  Exact same problem with the second router.

Called Tech support a second time and the girl said it was the wireless card in my laptop and that the Dell Wlan utility was fighting with the Windows Wireless utility for the signal and that's why it kept dropping.  So, I disabled my Dell utility and guess what?  With windows controlling the wireless I can't connect at all.  At least with the Dell utility controlling the wireless I got connected for a few minutes/seconds.

When I refresh the list of wireless networks, sometimes I have to refresh 3 or 4 times before my Verizon network even shows up and that's sitting right next to the router.

I have two identical Dell Latitude D510 laptops and they're both having the exact same problem.  They both connect to other wireless networks without a problem.

I guess I have to call tech support again but I seriously don't think they know how to resolve this issue.  Any thoughts? Suggestions?  Ideas?

Your issue could be because the Actiontech router has a small/tiny NAT Table?

Thanks for your response.  That could be the problem.  I may look into running my own router but not before I call Verizon again and request a different router.
