Verizon had replaced my old router (MI424WR Gen II) with the Rev I and since then my TCP Lighting keeps going inactive and loses its internet connection. (http://www.tcpi.com/connected-2-lamp-with- gateway) It worked fine on the old router. But with the new router the connection goes inactive after several minutes. I have called both the manufacturer and Verizon (as well as tried changing the TCP hardware, internet cable and AC Adaptor) all to no avail. It worked fine on the old router. What changed? Oddly teh TCP Lighting is powered by Greenwave Reality which is the maker of the new Verizon Quantum Gateway Router which is not yet available in my area and when it is will cost $199. The manufacturer says this is for sure a Verizon issue with the newer Actiontec but so far they offer no solution. Everything else on the network works fine and stays connected.

The new Greenwave is $150. There are somethings you can do that may help. There are some devices in the past that were known to cause the Actiontec rev I to reboot. Some of those devices that did this were similar to the what you are using. Look for older threads about rev i and dropped connections.

Thanks. The Greenwave is still not available by Verizon in my area.
I will check the old threads but if the ActionTec was rebooting I would assume the connection would be re-established as it is with all other devices. Also if I review the ActionTec log I can't see any reboots.
Appreciate the advice and I'll certainly check further.

I was now finally able to order the GreenWave today for the $149.99 so once I get it I will let you all know if that resolved the issue.
Thank you again.

Seems it really was the new ActionTec as TCP Lighting said. I just go the new Verizon Quantum FIOS Gateway and all is working back to normal.
I do notice however that my upload speed has slowed (I pay for 75/75 and now I am getting 75/35)
I don't see why I should have to pay for thise new router when the ActionTec "upgrade?" caused all these problems. I have messages in where I've been told a supervisor would call me back (3 times already) and I am waiting near 2 weeks for a call back.

Verizon seems to disavow any and all responsibilty here. I can document everthing but they seem to not care and I did get a call from a rather beligerent billing supervisor.. So I will be switching my service as the entire process has really soured me.

Sounds like something isnt provisioned correctly. Those speeds are with a wired connection right?
What I would do even if you have to re-do settings is a hard reset. I was having signal issues when I got mine. Couldn't figure out why, but ended up doing a hard reset and now everything works the way it should. If that doesn't fix it call them because the new gateway does smoke the rev. i.

Thank you but it was no question the router that has the issue. The original ActionTec worked but the Rev I did not and now the Quantum Gateway does. I can't tell you how many hours I spend doing resets, opening ports, duplicating evey setting from the original ActionTec. Contacting all vendors. TCP Lighting says its a known issue with this router and all I can say after struggling with it and having changed the router a second time is they are correct.
By the way my interent speed is OK now. Most of time is 75/75. (which I didn't need but Verizon told me is the only way to get the ActionTec Rev I for free instead of $99. So now I pay more per month for a higher speed I didn't ask for/need and I had to pay another $149 for the Quantum Gateway router.
