Yep tried all that but to no avail.  The router reinstalls the latest versions, resets it to factory default, so it takes a lot of time to get back to where you were.  My only response is that we write a petition to Verizon.  I will start a thread, so plese join.

To mitigate the "resets it to factory default" concept, save a Configuration file that has all your desired settings.

Logon to the Router

Advanced --> Yes --> Configuration File --> Save Configuration File

Save it in a location on your PC.  It will have the .CONF extension.

I have used that since day one once I had my own initial setup.  Anytime I make a major change to the Router settings I will create a new file such as "12-16-10 Router with Public DNS Servers & Epson.conf".

One day I had removed the Firewall rules for TCP port 4567 dropping all incoming packets for some testing.  It was then I found that the later version of the Firmware would not allow me to create the the rules again.  However I was able to restore an associated .CONF configuration file and restore the configuration which included the TCP port 4567 dropping all incoming packets rules.

I have submitted support request directly to Actiontec. Haven't heard from them yet. But we definitely need to have Verizon work this out. That is rediculous. The reason I bought this router in the first place is I wanted to use it's wireless-N speeds to stream stuff around the house! Please post a link to your new 'petition' thread here.

THANK YOU

Does 4.19.36 add anything, e.g. ipv6?

Just got a response from Actiontec. The full text is below:

Alex,

DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL as all email will be returned to the sender.

Product:
MI424WR (Rev. I) - Wireless Broadband Router

Incident Summary
=========================
I purchased this router in order to be able to stream content from my  DLNA media server to other devices. The problem is that server  connection is wired and some of devices are on WiFi. The server isn't  visible to wirelessly connected devices. The firmware v. 40.19.36 does  not have UPnP or IGMP proxy settings AT ALL!!!! Downgrade to previous  version which had these options did not work either because the router  would disregard the setting and update itself automatically to the  latest firmware. PLEASE HELP!
=========================

Resolution:
=========================
This issue is under review by engineering at this time. When a solution is found Verizon will push an automatic firmware upgrade to your router. We currently have no timeline on when this will happen however.

I guess we'll just have to hold our breath until they fix it...

Unbelievable!

C'mon Verizon!  First I hear that you guys might drop AMC (THE best non-premium channel on cable) and now I can't stream my media via DLNA to my new Blu-Ray theater system.  I just switched over from Comcast...internet is blazing fast, but so far have been having nothing but bad news about your services.

At least disable the auto updating until you come up with a firmware solution....

How it became unrelated. Its the same issue.

I cannot find UPNP and IGMP proxy setttings. My tuner requires IGMP proxy setting to be disabled and UPNP to be enabled. Same problem you guys are having with DLNA & media streaming.
