Activation of RJ45 on ONT

I just moved in with roomates that already had FiOS Internet installed, and when it was done the tech set it up using the Coax and the crappy Actiontec router.  There is no tv or phone service here (not even wired for either on the ONT).  At my previous location I had the RJ45 on the ONT running to my p4 2.3 box with pfSense running for real routing capabilities, then to my gig 16port switch.

 

My question is, can we get the RJ45 on the ONT activated after the fact?  If so, what does it take? a call to cs and signal sent to activate it?  Or would it take a truck roll and a tech and a charge?  I know how to do all the setup and config, as I did it before, problem is just the port is deactivated on the ONT.
