Everything was working fine twith the MI424-WR Rev. D router. I just upgraded my internet and got the new router (MI424WR-GEN3I).
But now, my VPN in windows 7 cannot accept incoming connections. I added port forwarding for PPTP in the firewall settings, so 1723 and GRE are both setup to the static LAN IP of computer hosting the incoming VPN connections.
However, when trying to connect to the vpn from the outside, it hangs on "verifying user name and password" until finally returning error 806 (which says is most likely GRE not being open). But I selected the PPTP as the application from the drop down in port forwarding, and I can see that the rule is setup:
PPTP TCP Any -> 1723 GRE |
I've also tried just forwarding udp/tcp 1723 and 500 to that LAN ip. I also tried just using DMZ.
With the previous router last week, everything worked by simply forwarding 1723. Now I'm stuck not being able to VPN into my home network like I had been.
Is there anything else I can try?
