Techman28
It has been a while since I have seen anything that strange. But I get IPs such as this, and it seems slower then when it issues a class A subnet address.
IP Address: 173.66.192.96
IPCop's Hostname: pool-173-66-192-96.washdc.fios.verizon.net
Lets try to get another now. I wish they would always issue a Class A subnet address to my router. It seems to work better.
Oh well it looks as if now that I gave up my class A subnet it will not give it back. I guess If I try again latter it will work.

I put money on it being that Verizon purchased new IP's and some of which were from Canada.... some databases like google, still show that as a canadian IP, even thought it no longer is.
As far as the odd routing from the first poster.... I say it is just that, odd routing... but that issue is different and harder to determine with such little amounts of information

hi there,
Looks like I am the latest person with this routing issue. I am in Northern New Jersey. I am being routed to the UK. Google comes up at google UK and I can not access some sites because it thinks I am in a different country. This is very frustrating.
Like all of you, I would like to get this fixed ASAP. I am a new mom with an infant to take care of, are there any tips as to who to contact to get this fixed quickly.
thank you.

Websites like Google.com and Live.com automatically turn into Japanese. I also did an IP locator and it claims I'm in Kansas!!!
What's going on here?!?

I am just posting a follow up to my last post.
The last person at Verizon Tech Support who I spoke to told me that my previous IP number was a 173.xxx and now I have a 74.xxx. And while the number is registered to Newark, NJ it may not have been updated with thet IRND (Internet Registry Number Database) yet. They said they don't know how long that will take. Not for nothing, shouldn't Verizon have tested this out before releasing this new IP number? I love Verizon I am very happy with them and this is the first problem I have had- I would just like this squared away quickly.
Thank you.
