I rent out two unused bedroom in my house. Since I own the house, of course the FiOS account is in my name. Is there a way for me to block things like Limewire, bittorrent, etc, so that they can't screw me over with a lawsuit from the RIAA/MPAA? And what is Verizon's policy for anyone who is caught downloading pirated material? Will they suspend your service at all?

You would get an email warning first time
But, yes, you can block any traffic in the modem. There is a full firewall in there

Thanks for the info about Verizon's policy.
I know that there is a firewall, but I don't know how I would block bittorrent especially. It can work (albeit not as well) with no open ports.
