Can't type in password for router access - automatic fill-in

I changed my ID and password to the router and wrote it down.  Now I cannot access the router with these items.  It allows me to fill in the ID then when I put the first letter of the PW into the box, the box fills in and I cannot delete it and have it "stay" deleted.  As a result, it keeps saying that the login failed.  I have used both Firefox and IE and neither works EVEN AFTER I have cleared that cache, all passwords, history, etc.  The block with the PW still fills in after I type one letter.  Any ideas welcome.

The password field fills in a random number of character in the DISPLAY,  they are meaningless compared to what you actually enter.

Enter the password YOU think you recorded and IGNORE the display.

If it still doesn't work push the router reset botton for 15 secs and it will all go back to the defaults

userid admin  password password

Chnage it ASAP
