Cancel FIOS and start over as new customer

I've tried to upgrade as a new customer and same plan as existing one. The difference is such that it seems that canceling service and start over as a new customer makes sense. For how long I need to stay out of FIOS to sign online as a new customer?

Unless things have changed you have to wait 6 months before you can reconnect.
