So I have been tryiing to block access to facebook in my network, and, like many others the parental controls are useless and are not helpful in blocking access to facebook. So like many others on these forums I went to the advanced filtering firewall settings and tried to block facebook by going under output rule sets and under the broadband rules adding facebbok.com in as a hostname and then "rejecting" access to it ( I also left the source address as any, and did not select a specfifc prtocal so it would block all). This, however, did not work with facebook, yet it did work with twitter and myspace. I then also added a bunch of IP ranges in that facebook uses and still it does not work. I really would like to block access to Facebook ASAP so any help is very appreciated. Thanks in adanvce.
hi there ,, my recommendation is to use open dns for that . it's free and much easier to Work with .
