Changing to Maximum Security Disables Emails on iPhone and Tablet

Hello,

When I change my router's firewall security setting to Maximum Security, I can no longer get emails on my iPhone and Android tablet. This only affects emails (yahoo, gmail, exchange). I can still access the internet with my iPhone and tablet.

Is there anyone who can help me? Do I need to forward a port or something in the Actiontech router's settings?

I called Verzion and they would not help me. They told me to call Actiontech and transferred me but I cannot get anyone on the phone without a Verizon agent on the phone with me. Verizon tech support was not knowledgeable. He told me to call Yahoo at first!

Thanks,

Navid

This is by design. "Maximum Security" blocks all but the most basic forms of web traffic via port blocking. You'll need to operate the router at a lower firewall level to make use of IMAP/SMTP services (what the mobile devices use for e-mail).
