Trying to install a MOCA coax-ethernet network through a Netgear MCA1001. When i connect the Netgear device in serial, as instructed, my Actiontec modem does not see the internet. Suggestions?

I took a look at the Quick Installation Guide provided by Netgear and see a potential problem. The Netgear instructions show the coax cable going from the ONT to the Netgear to the Verizon Router.
I would think it should be something like this:
ONT --> Coax Splitter --> Verizon Router, Netgear, Verizon STBs
There should be NO Coax Connection between the Netgear and the Verizon Router.
The only connection between the Verizon Router and the Netgear should be the Ethernet cable. Make sure that you plug it into one of the Lan ports on the Verizon Router.

For the TV service to work the STBs would also need to be connected to the splitter from the ONT for the TV signal. Now it all depends on what you are attempting to acomplish and if you are going to use DHCP on the Netgear or Actiontec. I would say go into the connection settings on the Actiontec and disable the coax wan port ant the coax lan port will still talk to the STBs. Solution would be to just get Ethernet anabled on the ONT. Are you trying to use the Netgear in place of your Actiontec to talk to the STB? Need to know more about what you are trying to do and why.
Wow this looks like a cool device. But what you are doing with it is in question. Now if you and to use it to get an ethernet connection to a location where you only have coax, then I would leave the Actiontec where it is at and just connect it to the coax at your remote locatio. Not feed the Actiontech through it. I am not sure how many people have tried to use this with FIOS but it would be interesting to try.
