Hi,
My main PC (Windows 7/Dell) died with a hard drive failure.
It will be replaced in a couple of days.
I have all of the login information for my M1424WR fios wireless router that I set up and configured using that computer.
What do I need to do when I get the new computer?
I have the network cable (leading to the router) unplugged.
Do I just plug it into the new computer?
TIA,
Matt

If you are using a wired Ethernet connection, then yes, all you need o do is plug in the network cable. No login or passwords are used with Ethernet.
If you are using WiFi, you'll setup a WiFi connection on your new computer. You'll need your WiFi password to connect, but that should be all.
Good luck and I hope you have a good backup!

Yes,
Possibly run optimizer when you have a connection

Not a recommendation I would make. In my experience the optimizer makes performance worse, not better.

That's right. If you're using a Wired connection, just plug the network cable in. If using Wireless, just pick your network name at the initial Windows Set-up and give the system your Wireless passkey. That's all you need to do.
For the Windows 7 Dell, you can get replacement hard drives for around $50 if it's not a huge or high performance drive. If you don't have a Windows DVD / USB, you can download the official ISO from Microsoft, and use the key found on the Systen's Certificate of Authenticity sticker to re-activate Windows.
