Hello, I swapped a Verizon Actiontec MI424WR Rev. I router for the G1100 Quantum Gateway and it's Wi-Fi signal inside my home is poor.
I have a Linksys dual-band WRT1900AC that I was using as my primary router for a while that can deliver a 100% Wi-Fi signal throughout my house.
I'd like to use the Linksys router to boost the Wi-Fi signal in one of (2) modes: Bridge Mode (router as an additional access point on an existing network - per Linksys) or Wireless Bridge Mode (to boost the 5 GHz signal).
The routers are located next to each other so there is no problem establishing a wired connection between the devices. I'd prefer to remain using Verizon's SSID and allow the wireless client to determine what AP to connect to.
Given my setup, which network configuration setting for the WRT1900AC is preferable?

The simple way is to leave the Quantum as primary, Ethernet to wan port (yellow) then an Ethernet cable from first LAN port into your desired router set as an access point. This will give you what you desire.
Make sure to turn off the wifi on the Quantum Router first.

What got me started down this road is I wanted to take advantage of Verizon's remote video streaming service from the DVR (VMS1100).
Originally I had a Linksys WRT1900AC w/ethernet connection to the ONT and a MoCA bridge to the Actiontec MI424WR (Rev. I) router. This worked fine for my in-home services, but I could not figure out the correct port forwarding configuration to support DVR video streaming and the VMS1100/IPC1100's (2) were not receiving firmware updates.
I swapped the MI424WR for a Quantum Gateway G1100 and with that device as primary received the firmware updates for the media server & clients & got the VCR streaming service working.
Unfortunately, the G1100 has a poor Wi-Fi signal so I wanted to add the WRT1900AC back to my home network to boost the Wi-Fi signal.
I can get the WRT1900AC working in either a wireless bridge or ethernet bridge mode. When using a wireless bridge (current configuration) I have the 2.4 GHz band upstreamed to the G1100 and broadcast the 5 GHz signal to my wireless clients. I have Verizon's SSID(s) configured the same for both routers.
My wireless laptop reports a 175.5 Mbps connection to the BSSID for the wrt1900AC and since I subscribe for a 50/50 Mbps Internet service w/Verizon there is no performance hit Wan --> LAN incurred with my wireless bridge config.
The problem I'm having now is with a wireless bridge I can video stream from the DVR, but cannot do so with an ethernet bridge connection to the WRT1900AC.
Am I missing something? When I have the ethernet bridge connected between routers, turn off Wi-Fi for the G1100 and have the clients connect to the WRT1900AC; does this prevent video streaming?

I cannot say for certain since I have a fios connection just for broadband.
maybe one of the people that have video with Verizon could answer that question.
at the dsl report site there are different connections that show and tell you how to set up your routers for video and guide.

Not sure I understand your distinction between the two bridging types.
You need to take secondary router and connect from LAN port to LAN port of g1100.
Turn off dhcp on secondary router.

Thanks for the help guys. I followed the configuration instructions as specified by Linksys Article ID: 24583 to bridge the WRT1900AC with the G1100.
Step 8 shows connecting one of the G1100's switch ports to the WAN port of the WRT1900AC.
Everything seems to be working properly.
I am broadcasting the SSID's for the G1100 & WRT1900AC and my wireless clients are connected to the Linksys AP.
The only caveat I've found with this configuration is to support wireless DVR streaming inside my home the cleint must be attached to one of the Wi-Fi bands for the G1100.

Being a bit lazy, does the article say to disable DHCP?
Typically, you would connect to Lan port not wan port of the secondary router.

The firmware for the WRT1900AC does not provide a lot of settings that can be modified. When you set this router to bridge mode it will automatically disable DHCP & NAT.
