Connection Issues

I can't connect to the internet but my fios TV is working.

Here's what's done so far.

1. Did the Router and computer reboot step. All router lights are green.

2. Reset the Router.

3. Made sure that the ipconfig displays an IP addy

3. Pinged certain websites. 1 out of 10 is successful.

4. Checked the fios connection and power and all green light.

5. FIOS support pinged my router and he said it was successful.

6. Disabled and enabled the Network Connections.

7. Both direct connect and wireless connect (two different computers) are having connection issues.

The FIOS guy said he couldn't find anything wrong with the router but he'll send me a new one. And he couldn't diagnose the issue.

You guys have any idea?

Thanks.

If you are getting an ip address with ipconfig, also try deleting all cookies, etc., and resetting all IE defaults\advanced settings under IE\tools\internet options\advanced

The issue about only 1 out of 10 pings being successful is puzzeling.   Are you atttempting to ping .com or .net addresses, or which ?   Have you cleared the NAT table?

Wired or wireless? Is this on more then one PC? Do you get a IP? can you get to http://207.68.173.231/ the page does not exist, but it still takes you to a MSN.com error page.

I tried deleting the cookies and clearing the history but it didn't work. BTW I use firefox or Chrome.

The ipconfig gives me an IP address info (for both Wired and wireless computers)

I pinged www.verizon.com and www.yahoo.com. For some reason I get more success pinging www.google.com.

The connection miracuroulsy worked on Sunday but it stopped working again about an hour or so when I was playing an MMO game.

The new router is due to arrive today. So I'm hoping its the router or else I'm dropping this service.

Thanks for responding.

A new router didn't solve my issues.  They sent me one and the guy last night used one and both of them did not resolve the issue.  I too can get to the google page but nowhere else.  Please keep me posted, if and how you resolve, as I will do the same.

If you are getting an ip address (from the router) this issue is being caused by something on your computer.   I would look at emptying the NAT tables.

Sands can you confirm Video on Demand works? Sometimes the boxes will retain an IP address even though the Internet is down.
