Constant Broadcast from DVR?

I know I have probably asked this before, but does anyone know why the DVR does a constant broadcast on port 7600?

Every 10 seconds!

that dvr does a lot of things internet related, so I could see where it would be broadcasting with some kind of regularity.

It constantly runs checks's at the myverizon portal so you can do remote dvr (scheduling from the web)

Caller ID ON TV?  if you have it enabled it could be doing that.

it constantly tries to connect for the whole home dvr experience.

It's normal guide and VOD and widgets server connections

Every 10sec? Ok I can see why, but why so often? I don't think it is standard for broadcast packets to get routed on the Internet, so this should be something local. I don't even think the Apple protocol does that much local broadcast. I know TiVO does not.

OK I did block it from logging on my secondary router, and it just drops the broadcast packets as it should.

Thanks for the feedback.
