I recently moved after being a Verizon Customer for almost 12 years and was charged 99 dollars and taxes after being told if I move , take my equipment and called when the bill was generated they would work with me on the installation fees because I'm a good customer who has been loyal for 11 years and always paid on time. I just got off the phone and the customer service woman was heartless and said flat NO! As most of you know its differcult to choose between medicine and food and finding an extra 99$ bucks just to move. Its too bad they promise to work with me and did not. I'm a disabled Veteran and these people offered no help in any form.

This is a problem voiced over and over. However the install fess normally can be waived when doing the move or initial service via their online ordering system.
if you speak or chat with anyone it is known that the fee is accessed.
you could call and argue over and over and they may waive it. Many times if they put you into a contract they can also hit you with early termination fees of $350 if you decide to cancel your service be it because of the install fee or to have verizon lose you as a customer.
Additionally i would remove your name and address from your post since its private information.
Did you realize there is a veteran discount?
You do have to connect with another group first, but that can help out.
However this is the fios forum. They have to go to a verizon wireless store to get the proof acknowledge. Or they ask you to submit via upload online and then it takes 8-10 weeks to get it on the wireless account. They also email and ask for other proof which delays it longer. I went through that years ago.
fios is not that easy to get the discount, there are not that many Fios corporate locations and uploading well you know where that is going to go.
your web page was interesting. But no links to get fios veterans credits.
Google can be quite helpful.
Here is the FIOS info on miltiary discounts ( the link I posted gave details on what FiOS discounts are available for veterans as well as wireless)
It gives details on how to verify eligibilty and then fax in the required documents.
I would guess contacting support would also prove helpful in enrolling and getting the discounts.
Yes google is great.
It is for a discount for a double or triple play after eligibility requirements.
However it is a link to provide an employer. Not a veteran duscount. There is no clear way if you look at the pages to get a Veterans discount without a new qualifying plan.
read the pages carefully and especially the FAQ’s
It explicitly says what to do if you don't have a military email.
After you check eligibility, you will receive an email.
You scroll down to where it says you click to verify employer,
They will take a variety of pieces of id including a veteran id card or a retiree account statement.
This would allow a VETERAN to get a discount.
Yes, you have to have at least internet and home phone.
But it could end up paying off.
It is up to the op to decide if they want to take advantage of this deal.
All I was doing was giving him info to look into if he wishes.
Alas as i pointed out it is not actually that easy as you can now see, its hoop jumping.
i had a relative easy time getting the 15% off my wireless and 25% off my accessories many years ago. I have been with the wireless side since the day they started under Bell Atlantic NYNEX Mobile and all name changes thereafter upto the verizon name in 2000 but this is fios and it is not that easy.
i like to give a poster a full understanding of what to expect. The pages clearly state a double or triple play, the sign up page is for employer submission and there is no clear click link to say ‘enter your name and account number to upload your military id or veteran card/proof.
That is something that is simply not there. It is designed that way to discourage such application for discount. The company really doesn’t have to offer one if they don’t want to.. alas that is the way it works.
