Just had Verizon Fios internet (50/25 Mbps) installed and getting internet speed of 58/38. Also just had Directv install the new Genie dvr all home receiver for tv. The Directv installer also connected a directv cable directly to my Fios router to increase my on demand download speeds. However my on demand hd downloads are not any faster than when I was using a powerline adapter with my Cox.net internet which was not as fast as my verizon internet. Currently hd movie downloads are at about real time. The Directv installed expected it would take about 15 minutes to download a 2 hour hd movie with my current fios internet by connecting to the fios router. The real time on demand is manageable, but wondering why I'm not getting the faster speed with the direct connection to my router.
