Dropped Connections while Uploading

Ok, so lately I haven't been able to upload files as small as 2MB. The connection times out and causes errors. I've tried to upload files to various sites including Flickr on different browsers on different computers (mac and PC). No luck. This seems to be a recent problem, maybe within the last few weeks.

I talked to a customer service rep. and I turned on and off the modem several times and no change. He then had me reset it (btw, without telling me my network name and password would change, thanks a lot), and still not change. I did a speed test on multiple computers and average around 20 download and 10 upload.

What do you think happened? I can't even email a file more than a few MB large, and uploading to Flickr is pretty much impossible. Yousendit? Forget about it.

Any suggestions??? It's killing me, I do a lot of work at home and can't even upload stuff to my google docs which is a problem.

Thanks,

D

It would be very helpful to try and answer any questions you have if you add some information to your profile.

You need to do this only once and it will be available to all each time you post on any VZ Forum

AFTER YOU SIGN IN...GO TO

My Settings

Personal Information

Signature...This is a good place to add what equipment and services you have

Location ... County and State....some of the answers might depend on what area you live in.

PLEASE DO NOT ADD ANY INFORMATION THAT YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE IN SHARING WITH THE VZ COMMUNITY

Are you in the right forum??

Fios is typically a router unless an old setup.  Modem is normally DSL

what device do you have?

Good points above! The next time it happens, login to the router or modem - http:\\192.168.1.1

navigate to system logging - save the log to your hard drive as a .txt file and post the .txt file as an attachment to your next post

Bad router, dirty fiber, it could be anything. If this happens both wired and wirelessky, that should rule out connectivity to the router. From here, you'll want to troubleshoot at the router. If another router won't fix the problem, you will likely want to get Verizon to check your coax and fiber signal levels and other related components.

New router, same problem. Can't upload files and it's ridiculous. Customer service says the connection looks good on their end...Any ideas at all???
