Good Morning.  I was dealing with Verizon FIOS Tech support for about 2 hours yesterday.  I was informed that until I can provide a TraceRT or PathPing showing a latency of greater than 600ms, they will not even consider looking into the issue.  Unfortunately, this issue has been going on for 2 weeks and is causing disruption in my primary internet usage.  Please see below the duplicate of my post made on the Blizzard Tech Support thread which was started by Blizzard themselves after recognizing this to be a Verizon FIOS only issue.

Description
This has been an ongoing issue for about 2 weeks now.  It typically is present at all hours of the day with random disconnects, lag spikes, and increases in latency reaching as high as 600 typically.  During peak hours (7:00pm EST until 10:00pm EST) I will experience latency which is typically between 1000ms and 30000ms making the game completely unplayable.

Shawn,

I keep getting the run-around as well. Just over 2 weeks of this nonsense. It's extremely frustrating and I'm getting nowhere. I'm about ready to just eat the early termination fees and find something else.

Do not eat the fee. Verizon is not providing you with the service for which you bargained. I too am considering dropping FiOS, and will refuse to pay any fee if I do. This issue needs high level attention. The Verizon tech support folks can do little more than ping your router and ask you to reset it. We need real answers.

Yep - Verizon isn't meeting what they are supposed to provide.

Third day in a row. Random disconnects, difficulty signing on, high latency. Can't even reach the battle.net website.

I don't use netflix or play WoW, but I've been expierencing the same issue here in the High Desert/CA. Everything was fine up until tuesday night. Speeds dropped dramatically to 2-7mbps once 6-7pm comes. Once it's after 10pm speeds go back up but they do not go to my 50/25 speeds and hover around 10-18/30(not too sure why the upload is getting more than the package speeds). I got home today at 4pm and speed tested it and it was ok and was close to the speed package a few times, but fluctuated alot from 25-40/30. Not too sure how speeds are in the day since i'm working most of the day.

ONT seems ok. Tried resetting, rebooting, etc. but nothing. Haven't called CS yet, but I'm afraid to after reading they're not doing much. Still will try when I come back home tomorrow night.

We do not have the problem in Parkville, Maryland.  It seems to me that this is a real problem for many subscribers.  Wake up Verizon, or you will lose customers.

I would suggest that, if you have the problem, call  Verizon and ask to speak to someone from the "Customer Retention" department..  It is their job to keep you from leaving, and they can be very helpful.  It worked for me on more than one occasion.

I posted previously as ShawnJanson.  Had to change accounts but I still have the same exact internet.  I am at nearly a month of dealing with this issue.  After several service calls, unfortunately Verizon has not offered a single solution that has resolved my issue and it still continues.  I am at a loss on how to resolve this issue but a service disruption of this magnitude which lasts over a month is rediculous.

See the above link for more in depth details.  Verizon, Please, Resolve.

thank you

hello,

i want to add a few things.

so, i got in contact with CS last night. when through the whole unplug router, reset, etc. after that did not work, she did a reset from where she was at, but nothing worked. the rep eventually scheduled to have a tech come for saturday(today before 1pm.)

I got a text msg that the tech was dispacthed at a little bit before 11. Well, 3:30 comes and nothing yet. I checked with CS to see what happened and the rep "Anahi" stated that their network team indentified the prbolem with their servers and that it was being resolved by the central office. so to them that's why the tech didn't get sent.

"Anahi" did mention that this is affecting multiple accounts. I asked if there was any timetable when this would resolve the rep said there was "no exact restoral time right now, but should be back very soon".  High doubt it'll be soon if some folks have been having this issue for a while now. The rep was going to send me emails updates regarding the outage, so we'll see.
